1822
• When I finally settled in 1822 I was doing really good with my cotton and cattle. I invested $910.40, but I had to pay for lumber, crops, and cotton so I wasn’t done yet. When I was done with all of that I still had $310.40 left.

1823
• I was still doing okay for the second year I was there.
After paying my yearly land payment I had $820.80, but I
still need to pay for my cotton, cattle, and lumber. When I
was done with paying everything I had $410.40 left.

1823
• This year was a good year for cattle. I spent $410.40 on
crops and I did good on lumber but not that well on
cotton. After all my bank balance was $1120.4, so I was
doing very good.

1824
• This year was a bumper cotton crop. I was doing very well
on crops, lumber, and cattle. After paying my yearly land
payment and my crops I had $715.40 left.
![Page 9: Mendoza s 1](https://reader034.vdocuments.net/reader034/viewer/2022050922/559510731a28ab0e108b4615/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
1824
• I spent 315.40 on crops, and on my gross income I spent
650. I was doing really good, but for some reason there
was a high demand for lumber because there was a lot
of building.

My Town
• My town was San Felipe it was a really good place to
live. However I got $600 in the end so I had $1630.80.
The reason why I got $600 is because all the
businesses.

Conclusion
• After spending all this money on crops and everything. I
learned that its a lot and you can face some problems in
the end. I faced some problems like harsh winter and
Indian attacks. However I was happy I picked San Felipe
out of the whole Austin’s Colony.
