Eco-tour
Eco-tour is an educational process made up of five elements:
Awareness: Environmental education seeks to build awareness – both a sensory awareness around us, as well as an awareness of societal issues & problem – solving strategies.
Knowledge: Increased awareness encourages students to improve their knowledge & understanding of natural processes.
Attitude: Students’ may change or mature as they develop a deeper appreciation of & respect the natural world & for individual people & cultures. Once, they see their actions made a difference; they will feel a greater responsibility to the environment & begin to pursue other environmental endeavors.

Skills: The development process skill involves teaching students how to think what not to think. This enables them to become more effective decision-makers. Decision making skills include critical thinking, creative thinking, communication skills, analytical & observation skills, negotiation & conflict resolutions & the ability to identify the values.
Participation : Ultimately, the goal of environmental education is to encourage students to apply their knowledge, skills & commitment outside the classroom. Participation can mean changing personal behavior, or involving one self in decision-making.

When two dozen prominent theorists were asked to define
intelligence, they gave two dozen somewhat different
definitions (Sternberg & Detterman, 1986).
Intelligence is multi-faceted, with intellectual functioning
covering various mental processes. Therefore, it is difficult
to measure all facets of intelligence through a single test.
Intelligence can be developed though experience and
nurturing, although it has a certain genetically determined
ceiling.
Intelligence is not a unitary concept. There are
many different “intelligences” (systems of abilities),
only a few of which can be captured by standard
psychological tests. Some of these most popularly
measured intellectual abilities are as follows:
Verbal Reasoning: Use of language and vocabulary
Abstract/Visual Reasoning: Interpretation of visual
information (drawings) and finding relationships in
visual/ abstract figures.
Quantitative Reasoning: Manipulation of numbers,
understanding of basic mathematical operations.
Short-term Memory: Immediate recall of numbers or
alphabets.
1. Linguistic: Children with this kind of intelligence enjoy
writing, reading, telling stories or doing crossword
puzzles.
2. Logical-Mathematical: Children with lots of logical
intelligence are interested in patterns, categories &
relationships. They are drawn to arithmetic problems,
strategy games & experiments.
3. Bodily-kinesthetic: These children process knowledge
through bodily sensations. They are often athletic, dancers
or good at crafts such as sewing or woodworking.
Psychologist Howard Gardner
Theory of Multiple-Intelligences
4. Spatial: These children think in images and pictures. They may be
fascinated with mazes or jigsaw puzzles, 3 D perception or spend free
time drawing, building with blocks or daydreaming.
5. Musical: Musical children are always singing or drumming to
themselves. They are usually quite aware of sounds others may miss.
These kids are often discriminating listeners.
6. Interpersonal: Children who are leaders among their peers, who are
good at communicating and who seem to understand others’ feelings
and motives possess interpersonal intelligence.
7.Intrapersonal: These children may be shy. They are very aware of
their own feelings & are self-motivated.
Psychologist Howard Gardner
Theory of Multiple-Intelligences
1. Moral Intelligence: Moral Intelligence is the ability to distinguish
between right and wrong.
2. Social Intelligence: Interpersonal intelligence or social intelligence is
the ability to understand other people
3. Emotional Intelligence (EI): Emotional intelligence, the skills that help
people harmonize, should become increasingly valued as a workplace
asset in the years to come”. Emotional Intelligence involves abilities that
may be categorized into five domains:
Self-Awareness
Managing Emotions
Motivating Oneself
Empathy
Handling Relationships
New Concepts in Intelligence
Spiritual intelligence is about the human need and talent
for finding meaning in experience.
IQ and EQ are the integral part of Spiritual Quotient (SQ).
While SQ cannot be quantified or measured, IQ and EQ
may be assessed.
SQ may also be seen as the highest and ever growing
need in the mankind.
Spiritual Quotient (SQ)
• Versatility, the ability for multi-tasking
• Early developmental milestones

• Very good retentive memory
• Is easily bored with routine tasks
