Welcome to Cameron's Corner
NEXT WEEK
We cannot wait for the return of all of our students after this coming long weekend. It has been a
very long wait and we particularly want to welcome back our Year 6 students, as they complete their
final year a MPPS. No doubt, it is a year that they will eventually be telling their own children about.
My thanks to the staff for doing a wonderful job of delivering remote learning. There is so much to
take out of this and as a team we will work through the benefits and consider new ways to establish
a more up to date reporting method, so that families do not need to wait for mid-year reports to
understand how their children are going and what it is that they are learning.
The use of online platforms such as Google Classroom and Google Slides has given parents greater
insight into their child’s progress and the nature of ongoing assessment has provided a more
immediate feedback mechanisms. Over the second half of this year we will be developing and
trialling efficient reporting processes to enhance the learning pathways for all students, and parents
will have the opportunity to provide feedback on these new initiatives.
Mid year reports will be made available via Compass on June 26 and the opportunity for parent
Teacher Conferences will be made available in early Term 3 when we have greater clarity regarding
Covid-19 and our ability to provide face to face meetings. Secure virtual methods such as Zoom or
Google Meets will also be considered.
RETURN TO SCHOOL PROTOCOLS
Saved in the School Documentation tab is a document outlining our return to school protocols in
detail, with references to the Department of Education documentation. Please rest assured that
every precaution has been taken into account to make sure our school is perfectly equipped for full
student return next week. Cleaning has been occurring twice daily, hand sanitiser is in every
classroom and social distancing measures have been and will continue to be in place until further
notice. Whilst the Return to School documentation has all of the details, here is a brief summary.
School operates on normal times, with and 8:50 starting bell for a 9am start. Please do not
be late.
Foundation families may drop students on the grass area outside the room.
All other parents are not to enter the school grounds. This is the advice of the Chief Medical
Officer.
Please remember all social distancing measures are in place and need to be adhered to.
Foundation – 2 students may like to bring coloured pencils and a pencil case or even a mug
to store their pencils in. School pencils that were supplied through the book order will not be
able to be shared this term due to the need for disinfecting after each use.
School cleaning will occur twice a day, totalling 9 hours per day.
Drop off will be the busiest part of the day. Please ask siblings to collect each other and
meet at a predetermined place. Staff will be on duty after school to assist.
ENROLMENT FOR 2021
It may seem strange to be asking for enrolment forms this early and in the current climate but we
have been receiving a number of enquires and bookings for tours already. If you know of anyone
who is looking to start school next year please ask them to get in touch. I am offering socially
distanced school tours and personalised phone calls for any families interested in our great school.
FACEBOOK LIVE NEXT THURSDAY
Next Thursday at 8pm I will be appearing with our local member of parliament Mr Tim Richardson as
part of his 8@8 segment. This is a great opportunity to promote our school and talk about all of the
amazing things our staff and students have achieved and will continue to strive for. Any chance I
have to promote our school I will grab with 2 hands.
COMPASS DOCUMENT STORAGE
Some parents have noted that after a period of time, generally a week, some Compass posts will
disappear. This can be frustrating when you need to download a form or access a sheet so I have set
up a Community Section for the permanent storage of school documentation. Simply follow the links
described below and you will see a number of recently posted documents. If there are things that
you would like to see there please let us know and we will make them available.
Kind Regards,
Cameron.

WELCOME BACK TO CLASSROOM CUISINE!
FOR THE REMAINDER OF T2 WE WILL BE OPERATING A REDUCED MENU AND DAYS OF SERVICE
WEDNESDAYS and FRIDAYS from 29TH MAY!
We're going to maintain our 8.30am on the day cutoff, however if at all possible
it would help us enormously to PLAN and AVOID FOOD WASTE, while there are so few
children at school and business is uncertain, if you could PLEASE ORDER THE NIGHT BEFORE!
(Or even further in advance if you can!)
NEW LOOK MENU! Our Food Prep Kitchen is a hive of activity in the morning. We've often marvelled as our business has grown, what we can achieve in our 'tiny' space and how many people we
can squeeze in to do what we do! Obviously, a return post lockdown, with thoughts around social distancing, has forced us to rethink this and on a practical level there's
really no other option than to reduce the number of items on our Menu while we find our way. The idea of pairing back the menu was a bit sad, so rather than taking on this
negative - we're using it as an opportunity and we've come up with some cool new menu ideas! These are choices we think your children will enjoy, but also things that we can
prepare in a different 'time window' to the normal shoulder to shoulder setting of our Salad, Sandwich & Fruit Chopping kitchen. Our inspiration is the cooler weather and we've
created a new take on some old winter favourites. While there's only a small number of
children at school it's an ideal time for us to give them a whirl!
*SAUSAGE ROLLS, *GOURMET VEGIE PARCELS, *GF VEG (No sausage!) ROLLS &
*SAVOURY SCROLLS.
As you know we don't serve hot food so these recipes will be made in our kitchen & baked in
the morning. They've been tried out with much success on our 'home schooled, ISO
Children!' and are really good SERVED AT ROOM TEMPERATURE. We've found the
healthier compromise by rejecting traditional pastry and instead are using wraps for the outer
casings. These new versions have all the comfort of the originals without the unhealthy
pastry! See the Our Menu page for more details!
We look forward to resuming our service and continuing to delight your school communities
with our Lunch Service.
kind regards, Geraldine, Alison and the Classroom Cuisine Team.
