Application procedures for exchange students
Pre-selected by home university (AU partner university) Submit AU online application form through AU Self Service Application deadline for Autumn semester/full year = May 1, 2014 Applications are screnned by IC If ok, application to coordinators at relevant Administrative
Centre/Main Academic Area: approved/rejected for academic reasons
Approval => Welcome e-mail to applicant, Letter of Enrolement, (+ ST1 application for residence permit for non-EU students), link to Pre-Arrival Guide and facebook group
Pre-Arrival e-mail from IC regarding information about intro activities, student card and reminder about what important documents/copies to bring to DK

3 types of housing/accommodation
Shared facility houses and rooms in dorms – keys and information folder to be collected at the IC
Subletting (private landlords/Danish students renting out their rooms) – The key can NOT be collected at the IC (the landlord has informed the student where/how to collect the key)
Meeting your mentee (Shared facility houses/dorm rooms only)
Arrival outside opening hours: Collect key and information folder at the IC
Arrival within opening hours: take the mentee to the IC

Furniture
Basic furniture must be present: Bed, table, chair, lamp, curtain. AU doesn’t provide duvet, pillow, bed linen or towels. Basic kitchen equipment: plate, cutlery, pot, pan.

Contracts starts 1/7, 15/7, 1/8, 15/8 or 1/9. The mentee can move in any day hereafter. Date not necessarily correlated with start date of study.
Is your mentee dissatisfied with the accommodation: ask the mentee to contact the IC immediately
No housing guarantee in 2014. About 40 exchange students haven’t received a housing offer from the IC and has been informed that they need to find a room themselves.
