Persuasive Writing(to be able to write to persuade others)

Information for studentsThe purpose of this type of writing is to persuade (convince) someone to agree with something

that you believe. Topics range from school uniforms, favorite music, t.v. shows etc. This week you will be focusing on your favorite restaurant

Instructions Below you will find a page to include notes, use it to help. You can use a loose-leaf and set it

up a different way if you would like. The important thing is to take notes before you begin your first draft.

Your job is to write 2-3 paragraphs persuading people that your favorite restaurant is the best place to eat.

Be sure to break down your paragraphs. Each paragraph should have a topic sentence, at least 3 strong supporting details about that topic and a concluding sentence.

Remember your first paragraph should introduce your restaurant. Try to make your sentences interesting and use descriptive words for the food flavor and

atmosphere of the place. When you are done! Reread your work and using a pen or different colored pencil make some

corrections. Write a good copy. Send both copies to me.

Materials required Paper, pencil or pen and different colored pen or pencil (could highlight mistakes too and write

corrections above) Paper or online dictionary or thesaurus
