Task designation Specification of the requirement of the future powertrain and engine functions. Documentation of ISO 26262 complient Functional Safety Requirements including HIL- and Vehicle-Testing. Delivery of relevant release documents of the safety process, described in a Development Interface Agreement (DIA) for relevant powertrain control units. Definition and distribution of the functions on the powertrain control units based on an existing architecture model according to the criteria like bus load, signal run time and redundancy. Engine calibration according to the project specific requirements, e.g. monitoring functions for torque control, safety relevant components like accelerator pedal, starter, ECU-HW. Run the module and integration tests to safeguard the system and testing of the whole powertrain functionalities on the MiL-/SiL-/HiL-test benches and test trips. Central contact person for the integration of the internal developed software modules and responsible for the project specific adaptations of the central powertrain functions. Documentation of the software releases and the test specification. Responsible for the software launch in the factory and the failure tracking process in the field.

Task designation 1. Development of the Powertrain E/E components (interface, design and function). Coordination of the timeline, costs and quality with the other teams such like mechanics, service, production, purchasing and quality. Collect, integrate and provide the requirements for the components and check the quotations. 2. Define the release scope of the component, function and applications. Evaluate and manage the of prototype technical release procedure of the Parts from EE point of view. Manage part development and localization projects from design-freeze to part release with handover to series production. Make sure to provide the parts on time and with specified function. Support to troubleshoot complaints and issues with the components during the development and in field. Conduct the risk and quality analysis (e.g. FMEA). 3. Coordinate all relevant data for the components according to the given product structure and documentation requirements. Coordinate and manage all technical Changes from RD China and organize the handover to BBAC Product engineering. Document and archive the necessary files and provide to the internal and external process partners. 4. Evaluate and verify the development results of the hardware components on the part and function level. Define and coordinate the endurance testing as well as by vehicle driving test runs to safeguard the component and system. 5. Develop the new hardware and/or software/mechatronic system with component function based on the existing architecture and application in cooperation with the responsible teams and suppliers. Consider the available space, the environment conditions, mechnical design and the tolerance specifications. 6. Assist pilot runs, try outs and series productions of Mercedes-Benz cars at the production plant with technical support and profound knowledge. Fulfill requirements of homologation processes and introduce new parts successfully to the Chinese market

Objective of job • Engineer of powertrain (engine/transmission) application for engines, transmission and exhaust system development. Engineer for application, testing and certification of imported and local built passenger cars engines regarding local requirements

Objective of job •Graduated engineering specialist with first practical job experience (e.g. internship) for Mercedes-Benz Engineering Support Office (ESO is interface between BBAC and RD Germany) •Coordination and realization work for localization of Daimler passenger cars (e.g. MRA: C-Class 204, E-Class 212, NGCC, ) and engines (e.g. M274 ) •Develop parts together with local suppliers in China, verify results in collaboration with R&D headquarter in Germany and in own vehicle testing programs – Responsibility of prototype technical release procedure ( Hardware ). •Support Change Management of electric/electronic parts of MB passenger cars Qualification required •Education -University degree in mechanical, automotive or electrical engineering •Experience -Graduates with first experience in automotive industry (e.g. internships) as well as applicants with minimum 2-3 years work experience at OEMs or suppliers •Specific Knowledge -Chinese native speaker with fluent English language skills, German language beneficial -Computer skills mandatory, including Windows, Office, CAD (CATIA V5 is preferred) -Self-responsible working attitude and initiative -Intercultural competence and communication skills with various hierarchy levels -Strong planning and organizational skills -High commitment for automobiles -Willingness to travel inside China and abroad to prepare and support launches at suppliers Task designation •Manage the of prototype technical release procedure of the Parts •Manage part localization projects from design-freeze to part release with handover to series production. •Manage all technical Changes from RD for local and imported Parts and organize the handover to BBAC Product engineering. •Evaluate and verify supplier results by endurance testing as well as by vehicle driving test runs •Assist pilot runs, try outs and series productions of Mercedes-Benz cars at the production plant with technical support and profound knowledge •Support of the on-time introduction of local and imported parts for our current (C- and E-class, GLK ) and all planned MRA and NGCC projects from Mercedes in China. •Work together with cross-functional departments like product planning, quality and logistics, set up project milestones as well as coordinate activities to pursue tight time schedules •Fulfill requirements of homologation processes and introduce new parts successfully to the Chinese market

•Coordination and realization work for localization of Daimler passenger cars (e.g. 205, 213, 253, 156, JC1…)

•Develop parts together with local suppliers in China, verify results in collaboration with R&D headquarter in Germany and in own vehicle testing programs

•Support Change Management of Body-in-White parts of MB passenger cars

Qualification required

•Education

-University degree in mechanical or automotive engineering
