Here at the Fountains, we are happy to celebrate many different

cultures and their fantastic holiday rituals. We are happy to say that

Kailey is going to be leading, “A Night of Hanukkah” class on

Wednesday, December 5. She has been learning about the different

religious traditions from her friend's family and is excited to share

her experiences with all of you. She will explore the history behind

the celebration and also share some delicious Hanukkah cuisine,

including the famous Latkes and Matza Bread!

great plan for helping

everyone THRIVE! as the

Christmas season

approaches. Please make

plans to attend our Holiday

Open House on Saturday,

December 8th, from 1:00 until

3:00pm. Our Residents and

family members will be able to THRIVE! while taking photos with

Santa and Mrs. Claus, between 1:00 and 2:00pm, in the lounge.

The festivities will continue with refreshments and music by Larry

Breidenbach, from 2:00 until 3:00pm, in the main dining room. We

look forward to seeing everyone at the Open House, to enjoy

quality time together and remind ourselves to appreciate the

'reason for the season!' Thank you for helping us all to THRIVE!

MerryChristmas! During the holiday season, we all get so

busy, we tend to forget about our

health. Try to take a few minutes each

day to relax. Close your eyes, take a few

deep breaths, and just let it go. Taking

care of your emotional health is equally

important as taking care of your physical

health! Also with the holiday, comes all

those great goodies and desserts. Just

remind yourself that studies have shown

(honestly!), it's ok to indulge in a treat

once in a while, just in moderation. In

fact, an apple pie has half the calories of

a pecan pie and turkey contains fewer

calories than ham. Some great things to

think about when planning your holiday

meal this year! If you want more

information, come join Nurse Lynn on

Wednesday, December 12 at 1pm, in the

lounge, for a presentation on, "Healthy

Eating during the Holiday Season."

Path to Well-Being

For the month of December we would like to honor one of our very own

Residents, Richard Cowen for making his appearance in Watermark’s Thrive

2019 Calendar! Every year, Watermark ask each Community to submit

Resident’s art work, so they can create a unique yearly calendar. We had

three Resident's participate, all equally beautiful, and Richard was one

of the lucky ones that was chosen from the 52 Watermark Communities.

You can catch Richard working on other cross-stitching pieces out in the

lobby some mornings to see all the intricate detail that goes into one

piece. These calendars are distributed all over the United States, so

everyone will be able to admire the work of Richard and other Resident’s

works of art as well. The finished calendar should be arriving soon and we

can't wait to see the finish calendar! Congratulations, Mr. April!
