Message From the President: Summer 2017 is approaching,
and preparation is underway for the FBCA Annual General Membership Meeting on
May 28, 2017; 2PM. This issue of the newsletter contains time sensitive information
pertaining to the meeting, election of officers and board members-at-large for the 2017-
2019 term, and, most important of all…. Your official notice, if you have not already
done so, payment of $30 annual dues will be due with the submission of the
ballot. This notice applies to annual membership renewals. If a (17) appears next
to your name and address it signifies that your current year dues have been
paid. If you have a question about your payment, please email Eva Casola at
[email protected]. The program for this year’s general membership
meeting will be fundraising for the new Carova Beach VFD Sub-Station to be located in
Swan Beach. Prior to the meeting donations can be mailed to: Carova Beach Volunteer
Fire & Rescue, Substation Fundraiser, Attn: Melinda Farmer, 2169 Ocean Pearl Road,
Corolla, NC 27927 or online www.cbvfandr.com, click on “substation donation link”.
Following a brief business meeting, a fundraising event ”Barbecue & Beer” will be held
from 3-7PM.
Food and beverage will be available for purchase. The event is being sponsored by Jay
Bender/Corolla Outback Adventures.
Don’t forget to return your completed ballot with dues payment (checks payable to
FBCA) on or before May 20, 2017. Thank you in advance and we look forward to
seeing you for an exciting and informative meeting. Details and the Agenda are on the

Annual Meeting Details The FBCA Board of Directors will meet at 12 Noon on Sunday, May 28, 2017 in the Carova Beach Fire
Station/South Bay. In accordance with the FBCA By-Laws Article VIII, Section 3F, any member of the
association may attend meetings of the Board as a non-participant observer. Agenda items for discussion
must be submitted to the FBCA President prior to the meeting.
The annual General Membership meeting will be held on Sunday May 28, 2017 at 2PM in the Carova
Beach Fire Station South Bay. At the request of the Fire Chief, I wish to remind members, that we are guests
of the volunteer fire department and that the station is active during our meeting. We must remain diligent and
cooperative and not interfere with any fire department operation that might occur during the meeting.
This year’s agenda will include a Fund Raising Event
for the Carova Beach Volunteer Fire Dept. Swan Beach Sub Station.
The 2017 slate of candidates include incumbents Jack Pardue, Vice President; Norman Zwahlen,
Treasurer; Board Members-At-Large: Gina Albrecht, Eva Casola, and newly nominated Dana Pappas.
