I love the church because Jesus

loves the church!

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who

do people say the Son of Man is?” They answered,

“Some say you are John the Baptizer,

others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the

prophets.” He asked them, “But who do you say I am?”

Simon Peter answered,

“You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God!” Jesus

replied, “Simon, son of Jonah, you are blessed! No

human revealed this to you, but my Father in heaven

revealed it to you.

You are Peter, and I can guarantee that on this rock I will build my church. And the

gates of hell will not overpower it. (Matthew 16:13-18 –

He started it!

He gave His life for it!

He takes care of it!

Husbands, you must love your wives so deeply, purely, and sacrificially that we can understand it only when we compare it to the love that Jesus has for His bride, the

church.

We know He gave Himself up completely to make the church His own . . . He has

given Himself so that He can present the church as His radiant bride . . .

No one really hates his own body but he takes care to

feed and love it, just as Jesus takes care of His church. (Ephesians 5:25-26, 29, 31 –

Voice)

I love the church because it is for messy

people . . . just like me!

I will put together my church, a church so

explosive with energy that not even the gates of hell will be able to keep it out.

doing this all the time, but you should meet together

and encourage each other as you see the day of
