Change in Mobile Phone and Wearable Device Policy November 2021

Clubs after school

If your child is in the following clubs judo, dodgeball or basketball, please make sure theyhave at least their trainers to change into or better still their PE kits to change into. Thankyou.

Booster Vaccinations

Are you eligible for your booster vaccination? This includes:

● people aged 50 and over

● people who live and work in care homes

● frontline health and social care workers

● people aged 16 and over with a health condition that puts them at high risk of getting

seriously ill from COVID-19

● people aged 16 and over who are a main carer for someone at high risk from

COVID-19

● people aged 16 and over who live with someone who is more likely to get infections

(such as someone who has HIV, has had a transplant or is having certain treatments

for cancer, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis)

People who are pregnant and in 1 of the eligible groups can also get a booster dose.

Odd Socks Day - Monday 15th November

Children have been asked to come in wearing odd socks to raise awareness foranti-bullying week. It is a way of celebrating individuality. Everyone is different andeveryone is equal. If you would like to find out more please click on the link.

Children In Need Day - Friday 19th November

Our school council has been busy finding ways for us to raise money for Children InNeed. They have come up with following fun ideas:-

· Come dressed in mufti and donate £1 – Something yellow, spotty or stripy. Pleasechoose items of clothing you have at home, there is no request to buy any new items.

· Please bring in an additional 50p so that your child can get their face painted with aspot or stripe at lunch time by the school council.

Early Morning Interventions

We have now started these groups at 8.30am on a Tuesday and Thursday morning. If yourchild has been invited please make sure they attend as staff have planned activities forthem to help them make progress. We have organised these slots to ensure that childrenhave access to a full curriculum during our core school hours. Due to the current pandemicmany children have missed out on learning and we are using these interventions to helpthem catch up.

SEND Pupil Progress Meeting Autumn Term

Some parents have received a letter with an invitation to a meeting with Mrs Case and theclass teacher, however we do apologise that the reply slip was incorrect. To clarify, allmeetings will be held in school in person. Thank you Mrs Case.

Christmas Concerts Tuesday 14th December 2021

This year we will be holding our Christmas Concerts at St James’ Church, Bodley Road,New Malden. The children will be walked to and from the church by their class teacher andteaching assistants. Please make sure they arrive promptly at 8.50am for school.

The O2 Choir and the Lower School Choir will be singing at both concerts, and a separateletter has already gone home with their arrangements for the morning.

Years 3 and 5 concert starts promptly at 9.15am

Year 4 and 6 concert starts promplty at 10.45am

Unless Covid rules change, one parent from each family is welcome to attend. If you canorganise for pre school children to be looked after we would appreciate it, but understand ifthis is not possible.

Year 6 Police Talk

Last week, Year 5 and 6 were visited by the police. The visit went really well and theyprovided lots of useful as well as helpful information. Becky and Emily, the police officers,told us how to protect ourselves from theft and not to ever carry a knife. They were bothreally nice and we all enjoyed the talk.

Calpol In School

Please could we remind parents if you wish your child to have Calpol during the school daythen you should provide us with a bottle that has your child’s full name and class on it.You are also required to complete a medical form stating why they need it and what time it isto be administered. Closing date: 5pm on Friday, 26th November 2021

Pupils are free to interpret this in any way they wish – following the climate talks at COP26, Iwanted a theme that reflects the importance of action on climate change.
