Dr. K.K. Yeo returns to WCC! Our friend and Pauline scholar, K.K. Yeo, will lead a 3-week Sun-day morning mini-series this Lent on March 16, 23, and 30 on the engaging topic of “Paul, Apostle to the Northshore” He writes, “I will focus on the journey to the cross for North-shore Christians as we grapple with the problems of affliction, domination and segregation in our families, communities,
churches, and world today. Can the gospel speak anew of God's presence when our refrigerators are crowded with pain killers? Can the Christian community exhibit the power of Christian love amidst injustice towards the poor and powerless? Can the cross bring about peace and reconciliation when some groups will move out of the neighbor-hood because others move in?” • 1 Thessalonians: Affliction and Hope--The Presence of God (March 16) • Philemon: Domination and Freedom--The Power of Christian Love (March 23) • Galatians: Segregation and Unity--The Law of Christ (March 30)

To pray for each other is to pray for our congregation, particularly in this season of change. It’s also to pray for our and the wider community. It’s to pray for the body of Christ among all faith traditions. It’s to
pray for the world and all God’s people and creation. We offer a special opportunity to do so on Ash Wednesday in our peaceful Little Chapel. Add your name to the growing list of pray-ers as we seek to once again fill each of eighteen 30-minute time slot throughout that blessed day. We currently have the following slots available: 1 - 1:30│1:30 - 2:00

The Family Promise Committee at WCC is looking for a new Volunteer Coordinator!Meg Hayes and Jen Lawless are looking for an individual to partner with to keep Family Promise running smoothly at WCC. Currently, Meg fills the facilities position and Jen Lawless is moving into the food services position previously held by Nicole Jacobs. The volunteer coordinator posi-tion requires approximately 2-3 hours a month prior to a Family Promise host week at WCC. As of 2014, WCC will host 3 times a year (decreased from our previous 4x/yr). All of the work can be done from home and consists of setting the schedule and communicating to WCC family promise volunteers via e-mail. We have such a supportive congregation filling the schedule has never been a concern. If you are interested or have questions please feel free to contact Jenny.
Mission Stock
The Servants are busy preparing for their mission trip to the Dominican Republic, and you have an opportunity to get in on the action! We will be selling mission stock beginning Sunday, February 23rd during fellowship, so be sure to stop by one of our tables in Tolman or the Neo-Narthex to participate. You may also send a check to the church if you are unable to see us in person. Your participation in this fundraiser is so important for our trip, and we thank you in advance!
Senior Pastor Search Committee FormedAt its January meeting, Council selected the Senior Pastor Search Committee. According to our by-laws, the committee is to be made up of 12 members, two from each of the Ministry Groups and two at large. Seventy members were nominated and more than half of those indicated they would be able and willing to serve on this important committee, and we are grateful to all of you! We formed the committee using criteria that included church membership, involvement, tenure, age and gender as we looked to create a committee that broadly represented our membership. The Search Committee members are:
Heather Crimmins Tom Geraghty Susan Gillette
Ken Guy Bruce Kelly Bob Knight
Julie McConnell Mike Meiners LeAnn Pope
Scott Santi Christy Shellenbarger Heather Smith
The Council has asked Lyn McKay, who has extensive Not-for-Profit search experience, to provide advice to the Search Committee in an ex-officio capacity. The Search Committee will be convened shortly.
Thanks to a generous gift from the estate of Louise Landau, those with hearing impairment can now hear WCC services with ease. Installed the first week of February, a Hear-
ing Loop surrounds the main floor of the Sanctuary, and enables those with a telecoil (found in most modern hearing aids) to hear everything during services by pushing a button on the hearing aid to tune into our sound system. Those without hearing aids may use a special receiver and headphone available in the Narthex. Louise and Wallace Landau frequently attended WCC where Wallace was a member. Rev. Paul Allen officiated at Louise’s memorial service at the North Shore Senior Center where she served on the Board, was a donor and an active volunteer. The ashes of both Louise and
Louise Landau
The Woman’s Society collected $726.00 for the wonderful
baked items provided by our generous and talented WS Board Members.
Many thanks to our congregation for supporting our high school scholarship fund!!
Wallace are interred in our churchyard. Louise was hearing impaired and frustrated by not being able to hear sermons, lectures and other events in public places and would be thrilled that WCC is now accessible to the growing number of people with hearing loss. Other places with Hearing Loops include Westminster Abbey and the US House of Repre-sentatives.
