First, if you are not aware, we have the great privilege of a Chin congregation from Burma worshiping in our facilities. We have partnered with a congregation of thirty who were all crammed into an apartment for worship. They have been worshipping on Sunday evenings and are very grateful to have a place to worship and grow. Their greatest hope is that God will bless them and they will grow enough to eventually purchase their own church building. Let’s all be in prayer for God’s kingdom to grow through this partnership. The second joy I share is that through prayer, many trustee meetings, and many generous donors, the church will be remodeling the Fellowship Hall. Construction will take place now through the end of June, and will be completed just prior to VBS. This is a great blessing that will allow us many options to utilize the fellowship hall for more events, movie nights, funeral overflow, training moments, and many other uses. Both of these generous things are taking place because our church understands “Extravagant Gen- erosity”. Extravagant Generosity is the theme of our stewardship program this year. You will be receiving a letter each week and a special card to begin focusing our attention on all of the wonderful ministries that we accomplish because of the extravagant generosity of all of our members. We touch lives every day because of your pledged support for our ministries and missions here at Jenks FUMC. I would encourage you this year to be in prayer during our four-week campaign as we prepare to give our best gifts to God for His use in our world. I know you will be blessed as we travel this journey of discovering how other’s extravagant gener- osity has made our church family special. During this campaign, we share a narrative budget that explains the categories of ministry funded through the church and how those ministries are touching lives in our church and community. Hello Church Family,

As I write you today I am basking in several amazing events happening in the life of our church.

Both of these generous things are taking place because our church understands “Extravagant Gen-erosity”. I know you will be blessed as we travel this journey of discovering how other’s extravagant gener-osity has made our church family special.

FELLOWSHIP HALL RENOVATION Renovations to the Fellowship Hall will begin in April. The hall will be closed during

the construction. Some of the renovations include repairing the roof,

lowering the ceiling, re-routing air ducts, new sheetrock & paint on

walls, new flooring & new audio visual equipment.

The Fellowship Hall will reopen in July.

STEWARDSHIP Emphasis Begins April 3, 2016

Our Stewardship Campaign for 2016-2017 will begin on April 3. Giving is a recurring theme in the Bible and our financial support of our church is a reflection of our love for God. During this campaign, we share a narrative budget that explains the categories of ministry funded through the church and how those ministries are touching lives in our church and community. We encourage everyone to consider a tithe (10% of your income). If this is not possible, please prayerfully consider an increase in the percent-age you are able to give for God’s work in 2016-2017.

At this time there is no Celebration Brunch scheduled

because of the Fellowship Hall Renovations.

Sunday School News...

During April, the 2’s & 3’s and 4’s & K Sunday School classes will be hearing stories that follow the resurrection: the Road to Emmaus, Thomas Believes, the Great Commission, and Believers Share. They will experience the scripture from John 20:29 - “Happy are those who don’t see and yet believe.”

The 1st-4th graders will be blending two units, “Easter - Go and Tell!” and “Walk to Emmaus,” to learn more about what happened to the disciples after Jesus died on the cross.

The 5th graders are studying, “Talking with God,” from the Live It series that intertwines scrip-ture with daily living skills.

Join us for Sunday School at 10:30am!

The 2’s & 3’s and 4’s & K

classes sang, “This Little Light of Mine,” during

worship on February 28.

The 5th & 6th graders made cupcakes for the church on February 14.

Yum!

Nancy played the piano, Pastor Rudy played the bass, and Kathryne played the flute. The choir did a fantastic job singing. Jennifer McGill and Amber Dinger sang the echoing part. The song was “Open the Gates,” a favorite of the choir. Altogether we had 27 people working and pulling their talents to make this a fabulous time of worship in our Palm Sunday service!

If you would like more information about how to get involved in the music program, or have questions about any of these musical opportunities,

please contact Rachel Hall, Director of Music Ministries ([email protected]) or Kathryne Hall, Music Intern ([email protected]).

"What does the Lord require of you, but to do

justice, and to love kindness, and walk

humbly with your God?" Micah 6:8 (NRSV)

Spring brings us many blessings to enjoy. The weather

is (usually) warming up, the outdoors are turning green, and we

look forward to celebrating the end of school. Whenever life is

this good, it is an excellent time to give back.

The UMW presents ways to connect throughout the year. The

Food Pantry items we collect throughout the year provide sta-

ples for our community.

In April, we are collecting paper goods such as paper tow-

els, bathroom tissue, napkins and toiletries.

Also in April, College Care packages will be assembled.

This year the UMW will be buying gift cards for the stu-

dents. There will also be a card for each student for you to

sign if you desire to. If you know of a student, please con-

tact Charlotte, even if they have received a College Care

Package in the past. Please contact Charlotte Langley @

(918) 991-9708.

Mark your calendars for May 8th, UMW Sunday. It will be

a wonderful time of worship together.

MARY’S HOPE CIRCLE meets the second Thursday of the

month (April 14) at 9:30 AM in the SOS classroom.

Kay Marshall is the circle leader and can be reached at

(918) 528-6299 for more information.

J.O.Y. Circle will meet on Sunday, April 17th in Kathy Green’s

home. Feel free to join in this fellowship time. Contact Charlotte

Langley at (918) 991-9708 with any questions.
