Scriptures about the atoning blood of Yeshua• Lev. 17:11

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement for the life.”

• Heb. 9:11-18 “….he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calve but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal salvation. ..vs. 12)

• Hebrews 9:22 “…without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin.”• Matt. 26:28 “for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the

forgiveness of sins.”• I John 1:17 “…and the blood of Yeshua/Jesus cleanses us from all sin.”• Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus/Messiah Yeshua you who once were far off

have been brought near by the blood of Christ/Messiah.

YHWH’s Word/Scripture Verse Our Memory VerseI John 1: 9 If we confess our sin (cast them on Yeshua), He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Optional: Drama and songHave two students hold a long piece of red fabric about 2 yards in length (or a wide red ribbon). Have two volunteers hold fabric or ribbon at each end and, moving their arms up and down, wave the fabric to flow (like water/river). This represents the water of Yeshua’s blood. Other idea: Pantomime children going through the ‘blood’ with a burden and leaving their ‘burden on the other side, come back through, free from their ‘sin’. As a final round after practicing, Drama can be done with song, O Damo shel Yeshua/Oh the blood of Jesus.

Snack Ideas for a sweet new year season• http://www.kidactivities.net/category/snacks-apples-.aspxThis site has many ideas of using apples for appealing snacks for kids.Including: APPLE SNACKS Ingredients: Apples, Peanut butter, Corn Flakes or Frosted Flakes. Slice unpeeled apple in thin wedges. Spread one side with peanut butter and dip that side into corn flakes, rice crispies, sprinkles, etc. (In case of peanut butter allergy, use cream cheese.)WORMY APPLE...Help kids slice apples into thirds and remove seeds from the center. They reassemble the apple with peanut butter (or cream cheese) and gummy worms between each layer. Worms should be hanging out from apple. (Image by KidActivities.net)

Optional: Activity A Tashlikh Field TripIf this has been prepared ahead of time and there is parental and leadership approval, let children know that they will go to a location with flowing water and have a time of prayer to YHWH - where we will repent of our wrongs and cast our sins and burdens on YESHUA. We will throw breadcrumbs or rocks afterwards and when we see these things (flow away/sink out of sight) However, we will remember that YHWH forgives our sins and washes them away and removes them from us as far as the east is from the west. And, we will Praise Him for it.

Letter to Parent(s)Dear Parent, Today we talked about the tradition of tashlikh, i.e. throwing bread crumbs or small rocks in running water with the belief that our sins or wrongs are being washed away. We encourage continued conversation that only the blood of Yeshua can wash away our sins. Here is a link to the song by Joshua Aaron, “O Damo Shel Yeshua”/ “Oh the Blood of Jesus” that you and your child can sing. Tashlikh Prayer

“Father YHWH, I thank you for Yeshua. I am grateful for his blood that washes away my sins. As I throw this rock (or breadcrumbs) in river and I see it sink to the bottom and out of sight (or wash away if it’s crumbs), I am reminded that ONLY Yeshua’s blood washes away my sins (Rev. 1:5b) and that You said that You will cast all our sins into the depth of the sea (Micah 7:19b), never to remember them again. Thank you for the blood of Yeshua that washes away my sins and make me clean. B’Shem Yeshua/In Yeshua’s name Ahmen ” ( Prayer Inspired by Ps. 103:12, Rev 1:5b, Micah 7:19b)

Parental Permission Form Dear Parent,

As a part of celebrating this season of holy feast days, our children are learning about repentance and the atonement of Yeshua. Specifically, we are comparing the tradition of tashlikh ( i.e. throwing bread crumbs or small rocks in running water with the belief that our sins or wrongs are being washed away) with the atoning work of Yeshua whose blood washes away our sins. We will be visiting ____________ where the children will have a “tashlikh” experience, focusing of a solemn time of casting their burdensome concerns/sins/wrongs on Yeshua and have a physical reminder that YHWH washes our sins away with the blood of Yeshua. If you’d like your child to share in the field trip, please sign the parental permission form which we will need to have in hand in order for your child(ren) to participate.

Thanks, The Sabbath School Staff

I give permission for (names)____________________________to go to (location) _______________________ with (organization)_________________________ during Sabbath School on ________(date).
