Methodology for Creating ObjectivesAn Instructional Goal is the course mission statement. It links the course content to thebusiness need to be addressed. The Instructional Goal answers the question “Why are weinvesting in in this course?” The Performance Objective(s) answers the question, “Whatshould learners be able to do after they complete the course?” Start by determining howmastery of a performance objective could be assessed and tested. Then ask if a betterlearning outcome is attained as a result of participant collaboration.

Directions for use:

1. Determine the instructional goal and create the performance objectives2. Break down performance objectives into individual objectives (Make a list)

3. Use flowchart above to help you determine best method for each objective (Add methodnext to each objective)

The completed table will show you the blend for your objectives.
