Methodology for Creating Objectives An Instructional Goal is the course mission statement. It links the course content to the business need to be addressed. The Instructional Goal answers the question “Why are we investing in in this course?” The Performance Objective(s) answers the question, “What should learners be able to do after they complete the course?” Start by determining how mastery of a performance objective could be assessed and tested. Then ask if a better learning outcome is attained as a result of participant collaboration. Directions for use: 1. Determine the instructional goal and create the performance objectives 2. Break down performance objectives into individual objectives (Make a list) 3. Use flowchart above to help you determine best method for each objective (Add method next to each objective) The completed table will show you the blend for your objectives.
