Let us have a look at the various pipe bending fabrication methods

• There are different methods involved in the process of pipe bending fabrication. • Based on your requirements, you can choose for the most suitable

methods. • It is however essential to know the specific details of your desired

fabricated product in order to fine-tune the method as per your needs.

Frequently Used Methods for Pipe Bending Fabrication

Plate Rolling Method• As the name suggests, this method involves fabricating pipes from

sheets by rolling them.

• These curved sheets are bent into tubes that are mainly used for industrial purposes.

Cold Bending Method• In this method, a triangular arrangement of three circular machines

(called as “rolls”) is used to make curve in the pipe.

• The pipes fabricated using this method are usually preferred in the construction industry.

Compression Bending Method• This technique makes use of a mold with specific dimensions for

bending pipes.

• The mold or die acts as the central portion around which the pipe is curved.

• The machine and parts industry makes use of pipes that are bent using the compression bending method.

Induction Bending Method• In this method, the fabricators make use of an induction coil to bend the pipe.

• This coil is placed at a point to be heated to around 2,200°F and the pipe that is to be bent is placed around it.

• Once the coil is heated, pressure is applied to it that results in the bending of pipe.

• Such pipes are used commonly in power plants and the petroleum industry.
