Letter from the NCGA
Corn.
It is a part of who we are as Americans. From the first tall, leafy stalk
domesticated by early Americans to the cutting-edge varieties that help
our nation’s most widely grown crop thrive today, corn feeds innovation and
fuels our economy. Corn nourishes our cultural identity, lighting night skies
on Independence Day and filling traditional cornucopias at Thanksgiving.
Our nation’s corn farmers, through their unwavering dedication and steady
perseverance, grow a crop that sustains our people, feeds our economy
and buttresses our national identity. As you turn these pages, you too can
explore the World of Corn.

Founded in 1957, the National Corn Growers Association represents more than
38,000 dues-paying corn farmers nationwide and the interests of more than 300,000
growers who contribute through corn checkoff programs in their states. NCGA and its
48 affiliated state associations and checkoff organizations work together to create
and increase opportunities for their members and their industry.
