Automa+c Standby Generator Service and Support
Meyer & Depew is a Generac-‐Approved Sales and Service Dealer.
• Our technicians have been trained by Generac for installa)on, maintenance and repair proficiency.
• We offer complete maintenance and repair services for Honeywell-‐branded and Generac standby generators.
STEP 1: Upon receipt of the signed agreement and receipt of down payment, we will file Electric, Plumbing, Building and Fire Sub Code permits with your town, indica)ng the proposed loca)on of the generator. STEP 2: We will contact your gas u)lity and advise them of the current gas load in your home from your furnace, water heater, stove, clothes dryer, etc. as well as the load for your generator. The gas company will advise us of one of the following:
a) No ac)on is necessary (less then 10% of the )me) b) A meter change is required to increase the capacity to match the addi)onal
load. This is usually done with licle or no cost to you by your gas company. (80%-‐85% of the )me)
c) A service change is required which usually involves excava)on from the street to your meter to increase the size of the gas piping serving your home. There is usually a cost associated with this and we’ve seen it average $4,000. This would be payable by you directly to your gas u)lity. (less than 5% of the )me)

STEP 3: Afer issuance of municipal permits and gas u)lity approval, we will install the gas piping at your home necessary for your generator. Afer being pressurized with air, this piping must be inspected by a plumbing inspector before it can be connected to your gas service. This is known as an air test. STEP 4: We typically schedule the remainder of our installa)on and the air test on the same day. STEP 5: Most jobs are completed in two days – but not usually two consecu)ve days due to the lead )me required for inspec)ons. STEP 6: Afer comple)on of our work a final municipal inspec)on will be scheduled.
