Thoughts on How to Write Vision Statements

The definition for Vision Statements is a sentence or short paragraph providing a broad, aspirational image of the future. A Vision is defined as an image of the future we seek to create.

Vision Statements therefore contain details of the future – its vision (the future plans with aims and objectives).

These types of Statements focus on tomorrow.

A Vision Statement needs to be short, concise, clear, vivid, and inspiring and focus on tomorrow.

University of Florida

Mission:

The University of Florida is a public land-grant, sea-grant and space-grant research university, one of the most comprehensive in the United States.
