On behalf of the leadership and staff of Memorial Medi-cal Center, I’d like to ex-
tend my deepest appreciation and gratitude to our extraordinary team of committee members, chefs, vol-unteers, members of the Board of Trustees, sponsors and guests who have made this wonderful event pos-sible. Our community has partnered with us to bring our Emergency De-partment – the lifeblood and central force of the hospital – into the 21st
century as a truly state-of-the art facility. Designed to exceed our patients’ expectations for the best possible care as well as create optimal working conditions for our exceptional team of emergen-cy room physicians and staff, the newly renovated Emergency Department will accommodate high level medicine and high-tech information systems, while providing for our patients’ physical and emotional needs. It will provide the highest quality of care to more than 70,000 patients per year that rely on us to be there when they are in need.
Thanks to you the new Emergency Department will become a re-ality; you exemplify the meaning of community and we are grate-ful for your ongoing support.

It is my pleasure and honor to present the Black & White Ball, our inaugural community event to benefit the Emergency Department renovation
and redesign at Memorial Medical Center.
The planning and preparation for this celebration was truly a team effort and would not have been possible without the tireless effort of our very capable Event Committee. I am thrilled not only to have been a part of the development of this event, but to experience the support of so many wonderful, dedicated volunteers, board members, and community leaders. I would like to give a very special thanks to Dan Costa and the Costa Family Foundation as the event’s lead sponsor and benefactor. We appreciate his deep involvement and inspiration, as well as the artistry and culinary expertise of Your Chefs of America. Also, it has been a privilege to work with the team at the Memorial Hospital Foundation, whose contributions and professionalism help to create a wonderful event for us all to enjoy.
I would also like to thank Nathan Heinrich and Fiore Event Design for the vision, guidance and time donated to the tremendous amount of details and considerations that went in to this event. Not only have they ensured a spectacular evening but have played an integral role throughout every step of the planning process.
On behalf of the whole committe, thank you, our guests and sponsors, for your support of Memorial Medical Center’s lifesaving work in our community and for your generous contribution toward the remodel and improvement of our local Emergency Department. We hope you enjoy a truly remarkable evening.

Denise and I both grew up in Modesto and are proud to call this town our home. Modesto is a special place where people really do help
one another and come together as a united commu-nity. Denise and I have also been fortunate over the years to start our businesses in this community and to have enjoyed the subsequent success. There is no other place that we would rather start and grow our businesses than right here.
We started the Costa Family Foundation so we could give back as a family to Modesto. Both of our chil-dren, Kelsie and Daniel, are involved in the Costa Family Foundation and, as a family, we are happy to partner and support a number of worthy local orga-nizations.

We are proud to partner and to support the Memorial Hospital Foundation. The care their organizations provides our area residents is a tremendous blessing to our community. We know that the Emergency De-partment Remodel is vital necessity and we would like to thank each of you for attending this evening and partnering with us.
Together, I hope that we will all continue to support the Memorial Hospital Foundation and ensure that their vision of an improved Emergency Department comes to fruition. We are grateful for the first rate health care Memorial brings to our community and to the improved service that will inevitably result from your generosity and support of this cause.
Sincerely,
The Costa FamilyDan, Denise, Kelsie, and Daniel

Introducing the ConCierge auCtion
We are excited to present an all new auction concept we call the “Concierge Auction”. While we wanted to include a selection of
premium auction items for our guests while raising ad-ditional funds for the cause, it was important to us that we preserved the overall feel of the evening and limit the interruptions of our guests experience.
With this auction concept, guests will select their pre-ferred Auction Concierge who will place bids on their behalf throughout the evening. Guests will be able to view the status of each item on screens placed through-out the venue. The Auction Concierge will ensure that bidders are notified regarding current status of each item.
So please enjoy the evening, bid from the comfort of the lounge of your seat and be sure to select the right Auc-tion Concierge for you!

Following the final performance by Frank Sinatra, Jr., the doors will open to “Jilly’s Lounge”. The after-hours lounge will fea-ture a collection of cigars and nightcaps inspired by the mid-
1960’s lounge owned by Sinatra’s long time friend, “Jilly” Rizzo. Jilly Rizzo (Ermenigildo Rizzo) was an “America restaurateur”, entertain-er and long-time friend of Frank Sinatra and owner of Sinatra’s favor-ite New York bar, Jilly’s Saloon. Jilly was considered by many to be Frank Sinatra’s “right hand man” and was said to have kept a watchful eye over Sinatra for the many decades of their friendship.
Valley Spirits will introduce their all new single malt, California White Wheat released exclusively at Jilly’s Lounge and not yet pub-licly available. This extremely smooth whiskey boasts “complex and balanced notes. Pair with your selection of cigar or choose the rich-ness of the Silkwood Petit Sirah.
