UK Power Networks December 2014 – present

Street Works Continuous Improvement Coordinator – Full Time

Role: Project Management role dealing with proactive management of unique projects on behalf of UK Power Networks Street Works sector. UK Power Networks March 2006 – December 2014

Sustainability, TMA and Compliance Co-ordinator:-

- Organising and producing a training module for the TMA (Traffic Management Act) with the Street Works Managers and Contractors. Facilitated external trainers to deliver the TMA training module which included organising a trainer the trainer day. Formulated a time line for training completion for 5000 people.

- Managing the budget to cover the cost of the trainers and the locations across the entire UK Power Networks footprint.

- Working closely with all contractors’, local authorities and material suppliers to use recycled material for reinstatement of the highway.

- Working with the ground works contractors to reduce the percentage of excavated spoil that is sent to land fill with a 99% reduction in 9 years.

- Ensuring through audits that material suppliers comply with WRAP protocol for recycled materials.- Implementing and working with UKAS accredited laboratories on approval of recycled materials to SHW

803, 840 and 821 specifications. - Making sure that the UK Power Networks ground works contractors have appropriate quality systems in

place for the use of recycled materials and disposal of excavated materials.- Monitoring of the performance of recycled materials.- Reporting on the percentage of excavate material that is sent to landfill.- Investigating any issues with the use of recycled materials.- Ensuring UK Power Networks was Best in Class across the Industry.
