Michael’s Treatment PlanMichael has done very well in the prison setting. He is a model prisoner and he is ready to re-enter the outside world through the half-way house program that we are offering him .
FamilyMichael has been working on his relationship with his parents and other family members through letters, phone calls and also visits at the prison. I believe that it would be beneficial for Michael’s treatment plan to include family counseling so that Michael and his family can deal with issues that may arise when he is released from the prison environment. By working together with his family “Parents” Michael and his parents may be able to work through some issues that Michael has displayed as being important to his recovery.
12 step program
Michael needs to be involve in a 12 step program that will help him to accomplish his goals of becoming a recovered substance abuser. Michael needsto be in a group setting so that he can learn from others in the program. This may include not only good behaviors but also bad behaviors that Michael should stay clear of.
Michael’s Education
Michael’s desire to finish his education has become a very important part of Michael’s treatment plan in the prison setting. At this time Michael is taking internet courses and I believe that it would be beneficial for Michael to finish the courses that he is in at the time and then en-role in a classroom setting for the rest of his education.
Michael’s Job
Training
Michael will need help returning to the workforce therefore I recommend that Michael be en-rolled in a job training program that could help him find out what the workforce has to offer him.
