Michel Cruz Art www.michelcruzart.virb.com (Dallas, TX – August 31, 2014) Michel Cruz Flores, invites artists, gallery owners and art enthusiasts in, around and outside of the Dallas – Fort Worth metropolis to attend his first solo art show. The art show will be held at Artes de la Rosa Cultural Center, in Fort Worth on Saturday, October 25, 2014; and the exhibit will be displayed from 7:30 – 11:00 p.m. Truly Yours, will feature the much raved about Emotionally Disturbed series, which depicts emotions such as anxiety, envy and mental illness such as Bipolar Disorder, through characters originated by Michel. These paintings instantly capture and project said emotions. Immediately, the viewer will either recall and/or understand what emotional range(s) these characters are conveying or eliciting. This exhibit will also include the official debut of Michel’s largest piece of art; the painting and subject matter will be revealed that evening. MICHEL CRUZ FLORES is an up and coming studio artist who was born in Mexico City and raised in Los Angeles, California. He has been drawing and sketching since he was 4 years old, inspired by an overactive imagination fueled by his fascination with comic books. He is passionate about painting, enthralled with everyday graffiti and street tags, and influenced by a range of pioneers like Michael Angelo and Divinci to modern day artists such as Chaz Bojorquez and Graffiti writer El Mac. Whenever he paints he uses an open approach to each piece and mixes mediums such as acrylics, oils, inks, markers and aerosol. His style is a combination of abstract expressionism, in which he captures the subject by creating an emotional impact by bold use of colors. Michel paints under the name Res818, a childhood tag using the last 3 letters of his last name. Michel is currently working on an emotional series and desires to create a clothing line based on his art work. He resides in Dallas, TX with his wife and son.
