Introduction

In this new century, powerful advancements in information technology are transforming education on a global

scale.

More than 23 million K-12 students worldwide

now have 24 hours a day, seven days a week

access to their own laptop, and the numbers are

growing exponentially. That reality can offer

extraordinary possibilities for young learners, yet

it can create enormous challenges for the school

systems working to break free of antiquated

models for delivering education.

More than 20 years ago, Microsoft saw the possibilities of 1:1 learning and has been working with education

leaders and consultants around the world to capture that learning; to help policy makers, school leaders, and

educators get the most from their technology investments.

Use this guide to find out more about each of the offerings available. Workshops can be customised based on

context and need.

Professional Development

During times of scarce resources and increased accountability, leadership must strike a balance between

operational excellence and strategic relevance. It is no longer acceptable to be “good enough.” Educational

institutions need to demonstrate to all stakeholders that the ideal future is a more engaging, efficient, and

prosperous one. Strategic planning that aligns policy stakeholders with this transformative vision of education can

be a key driver of future economic success.

Microsoft, working with international educational experts, provides workshops that help policy makers develop,

refine, and get to a shared educational vision that supports new initiatives, policies, and reforms.
