Customer integration from the Manager Panel to Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0
Integrate customers present in the Manager Panel to Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 using the Integration Manager and Scheduler. All new customers created in the Manager Panel are visible in the integration queue for the Store Manager to integrate to Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0. Integration logs are stored in the ‘Log Viewer’ in the Manager Panel.

‘Name’ field is defaulted to customer’s first name and last name from the Manager Panel. Customer class and primary address are also defaulted for each customer during integration. Default payment terms, default credit type for newly integrated customers is picked up from connection configurations in the Manager Panel.
Integrated complete customer recordUpon integration the complete customer record is visible in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0. This ensures that the Manager Panel and Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 databases are in sync for smooth processing of transactions.
Account for guest customers Data in syncGuest customers can have individual accounts in Microsoft Dynamics SL, which essentially means that each guest would get created as one customer. Alternatively, all guest customers can be mapped to a single existing Customer Account in Microsoft Dynamics SL and it can be specified in connection configuration in the Manger Panel.

The Store Manager creates and saves a customer in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 with all relevant details like name, email address primary address, contact details, customer class and price group. Upon successful integration, the customer is integrated to the Manager Panel with various fields mapped correctly. Name field in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 gets mapped to first name and last name on the web store after integration. Password is defaulted to ‘p@ssword’ for such customers to login from web store and place orders. Merchants can always enforce password change for security purposes and can be turned on from the Manager Panel.

It is possible to integrate the entire address book from the Manager Panel to Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0. The Store Manager queries and selects the addresses of integrated customers and clicks on ‘Run Integration.’ Integration logs are stored in the ‘Log Viewer’ in the Manager Panel.
The Store Manager can also map international address from the Manager Panel to Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0. This requires other countries and states to be set up in both the Manager Panel and Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0. The setup includes mapping state and country codes if they are different in the two systems.

Integrate complete sales order detailsSales orders placed in the Manager Panel are integrated to Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 using the Integration Manager and Scheduler. Complete sales order details such as item ordered, quantity, unit price, sales amount, requested shipping date, shipping, billing, sales tax and order totals etc. are integrated by clicking on ‘Run Integration.’ He then proceeds to order fulfillment and shipper creation using Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0.

Sales order fulfillment in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0After integration, the sales order needs to be ‘finished’ so that it can be released and shipped to the customer. For sales order fulfillment it is important to generate a ‘Shipper’ (known as invoice in the Manager Panel) in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0. To create a new shipper, open ‘Shippers’ from the Microsoft Dynamics SL menu and choose order number and save. The shipper id is generated. Click on ‘Print’ to print the packing slip, and then ‘save and finish’ the shipper.

Manifest order and generate shipper for sales orderThe CSR runs shipment confirmation and ‘saves and finishes’ the shipment confirmation. After this the order is manifested by checking the ‘Manifested’ box in the other information tab, and clicking ‘Manifest.’ To manifest an order you need to add the box number and the tracking number of the order. This process generates the shipper for your order.

Generate sales journal The CSR needs to generate a sales journal (also known as invoice report) before he can integrate the shipper from Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 to the Manager Panel. For this he navigates to the ‘Sales Journal’ menu in Microsoft Dynamics SL and clicks on ‘Print Preview’ to generate the sales journal. He then runs the ‘AR batches’ to complete the shipper process by navigating to the Financial module in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0.

Shipper Integration Once the shipper is generated in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0, the Store Manager queries and selects the shipper he wants to integrate. The integrated shipper along with the shipping information becomes available in the Manager Panel upon successful integration. At this stage the shopper can also track his order status via his self-service account on the web store.

Invoice settlementThe Integration Manager and Scheduler allows you to process pending payments at pre-set frequencies via a batch process. The CSR can manually settle it via the Manager Panel as well. Payments are settled against the authorization amount at the time of order placement.
Shipping confirmation emailThe order is also ready to be shipped and a shipping confirmation email is sent to the customer. This can be done via a batch process in the Integration Manager and Scheduler, or manually through the Manager Panel.

Make single payments against multiple invoicesOutstanding invoices (referred to as shipper in Microsoft Dynamics SL) for all orders placed by offline payment methods such as terms PO, cash, check and wire transfer can be settled by navigating to the ‘Create Payments’ menu in the Manager Panel. The CSR can select pending invoices he wishes to settle and settle payments for the customer. The payments settled through this method are then applied to a shipper in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0.

Settle offline payments via web storeThe self- service ‘My Account’ on the web store is equipped to settle offline payments. The invoices generated against the shopper’s orders are displayed on the web store real-time. The shopper can select multiple invoices and make a single payment against them or even pay an invoice partially.

Complete sales order process with payment integrationOnce the invoice is settled and the payment is charged via credit card or PayPal, the integration application integrates this payment information to Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 against the corresponding shipper. For offline payment methods money charged via the method in the previous slides will be integrated back into Microsoft Dynamics SL as payment against the invoice. The Amount to apply column displays the integrated amount when the Customer has Auto Apply Payments marked under the Other Options tab of Customer Maintenance, otherwise amount is not displayed.

Update inventory quantity with Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0The Store Manager can configure the inventory messages and the inventory quantity display from the Manager Panel. If the stock quantity becomes zero or goes below threshold, then a message can be displayed such as ‘limited stock’ or ‘out of stock’ etc. If he chooses to show inventory quantity then the stock quantity is displayed on the web store. The changes in stock quantity after integrations are updated and displayed real-time on the web store.

Update inventory quantity with Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0You can update/change the stock quantity for inventory items in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 via the Inventory > Adjustments menu. Tab out the ‘Inventory Id’ field in the Adjustments window and add the desired quantity in the Quantity field. Quantity Control and Quantity fields display the same number. A single adjustment transaction cannot have positive quantity and negative cost, or vice versa. To do both a positive and negative adjustment to the same item requires two lines. The ‘on hand’ inventory quantity can also be seen in the Manager Panel catalog for the corresponding inventory item.

Inventory quantity integration from Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 to the Manager PanelThe ERP Manager runs the inventory quantity integration through the Integration Manager and Scheduler. Upon successful integration the ‘on hand’ quantity in the inventory item in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 is updated with the amount entered for selected warehouse during the transaction. The updated inventory quantity can also be seen in the Manager Panel catalog for the corresponding inventory item.

Web store stock quantity updatedUpon integration from Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 to the Manager Panel, the web store is also updated with the revised stock quantity. If the Store Manager chooses to display stock quantity messages during the configuration mentioned earlier, then instead of stock numbers, the message would be displayed.

Integrate stock price updates with Dynamics SL 7.0You can update/change the stock base price for inventory items in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 via the Inventory > Inventory items > Cost/Price tab. Tab out the ‘Inventory Id’ field and in the Cost/Price tab change/add the desired stock base price. Save and close the changes and run integration. The updated price is displayed in the Manager Panel and the web store for the respective inventory item.

Scheduling integration processes
All integration processes available between Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 and the Manager Panel can be configured to run at pre-set frequencies. This is done by clicking on ‘Process Scheduler’ in the Integration Manager and Scheduler and creating a task for the process to be scheduled.
