Ribbon Toolbar & Formatting
Home : To edit Slides, Fonts, Paragraph, Drawing and Editing.
Insert : To add Tables, Images, Illustrations, Links, WordArt, and Media
Clips.
Design: To edit how your presentation will look. It includes features
such as Page Setup, Themes, and Background Styles.
Transitions : To edit Slide Transitions, Effects, and Transition Timing.
Animations : To add custom animations to your presentation.Slide Show : To show how your presentation will be displayed.
Review : This allows you to Proofread, Translate Languages, Comment
Slides, and Compare your Presentation.
View : To set the View of your Presentation, Create Master Views,
Show/Hide Features, Zoom, Switch from Color to Grayscale, AdjustWindows, and Add Macros.

Formatting Your Presentation
The default slide design for Microsoft PowerPoint
documents is a blank slide
To change the design of your presentation, go to the
Design Ribbon > Themes .
To customize the slide layout, go to theHome > Layout.

Inserting and Adding Objects
To enhance your presentation slide, can use Clip Art, Word Art,Picture, Chart, Shapes and SmartArt

Inserting Clip Art
Go to Insert > ClipArt and then select the
desired picture in the Clip Gallery.
The picture will be inserted at the location
of your cursor within your document.

Inserting Word Art
To insert WordArt, go to Insert > WordArt.
Afterwards, you will be prompted to insert your text.
You can also change the effects of the WordArt by clicking
the options in the Format ribbon in Word Styles toolbar.

Inserting Picture
To insert a picture into your
presentation select Insert >
Picture.
You can choose either to get the
photo from a browser, or from a fileand then locate the image that you
want to put into your document and
click Insert.

To insert Shapes, click the Insert
Ribbon > Insert > Shapes
To resize the Shapes, simply
click and drag any of the four
corners on the object.

Theme Color & Font
Theme Combination of colors, fonts, formatting, graphic and
other element that give your presentation a coherent look.
To change the theme applied to presentation, you can choose
the theme in from Theme group on the Design Tab.

Creating a Hyperlink
Presentation that are intended to be viewed on the Web ofteninclude hyperlinks to provide access to supporting information.
You can attach a hyperlink to any selected object, such as text, a
graphic, a shape, or a table. Clicking the hyperlinked object or text
than take you directly to the linked location.
To add hyperlink, go to Insert Tab >> Links Group>> Hyperlink

Slide Transitions & Animation
Slide transitions provide an animated effect to each slide whenmoving from one slide to the next during a slide show.
There are a variety of transitions that can be applied to each or
all slides including sounds.
1 - Transition to this Slide group provides thumbnails of various
slide transition options.
2- Point and hover over any transition thumbnail, a preview of
the theme will play.

Slide Transitions
3 - Click on the Apply to All command to apply the same
transition to all of your slides.4 To choose sound, click on the sound you would like to
chime during the slide transition.
5 - Advance Slide group, allows you to decide if a transition
should appear when the mouse is clicked or after a specified
time.
6 - To preview the current slide by clicking on the Preview
command.

Slide Animations
Slide animations create animated effects to text and graphicsduring a slide show.
There are a variety of animations that can be applied to text orgraphics in multiple ways from a single word to all of the text ona slide.
1 - Animation group provides a variety of option to applyanimations to text and graphics within each slide.
2 - Point and hover over any animation command, it will behighlighted in a golden color and a preview of the animation willappear.

Slide Animations
3 - Timing group allows you to modify the
sequence and timing of the animationsselected.
4 - Animation Pane displays all of theanimations you have applied to eachslide. It also enables you to modify each
animation similar to the Timing group andplay the animations applied to the slide.
5 - To preview the current slide byclicking on the Preview command.

Starting a Slide Show
1 - To view your slide show go to the Start Slide
Show group. To start on the first slide click the
From Beginning command. To start on the currentslide click the From Current Slide command.
2 - Your computer screen will disappear
and a slide show will fill your computer
screen.
3 - To move from slide to slide you can use theSlide Show toolbar, at the bottom left of the
screen. Navigational arrows will appear when you
position your cursor in that area. You can also
move from slide to slide by clicking the mouse
button or using the right and left arrows on thekeyboard.

Starting a Slide Show 4 - To end your slide show press the ESC key on your
keyboard. This will return you to your screen as you left.
NOTE: Another way to quickly preview a slide is to click on
the Slide Show button in the lower right part of the PowerPoint
window. The slide show will begin from the slide selected on
the Slides tab.

Printing Slide
To print your document, go to File > Print, select your desiredsettings, and then click the Print button.

In Microsoft 2010, you can preview yourdocument in the print screen as well,
and can scroll through the pages using
the arrows located at the bottom of the
panel.
You can select print Settings beforestart printing the document.
