    Q. Hi, I have received the rules pack for the WH doubles, within the scenario section it states:Players calculate victory points using the Doubles Tournament Points Rules.Nowhere within the pack does it detail what the Doubles Tournament Points Rules are.

    A. Please Note: Due to an error in the printing of the pack, the following informationhas been omitted. Please be aware that this info should now be considered as part ofthe scoring for the Doubles Tournament.

Doubles Tournament Victory PointsThe Warhammer Doubles Tournament uses a slightly different Victory Points (VPs)calculation than the usual one found on page 198 of the Warhammer rulebook.

Victory Points (VPs) are awarded as follows:

You receive VPs equal to the points value of each enemy unit either destroyed, fleeing orhaving fled the table.

Each independent character is counted as a separate unit for this purpose, andcharacters mounted on monsters are also counted separately from their mount.

You also receive VPs for each enemy unit reduced to below half its original startingnumber of models; you score VPs equal to half the units points value (round up).

Independent models reduced to half their starting number of Wounds count for thepurposes of this rule.

Do not count this for units that have already been wiped out, as detailed in the first ruleabove.

Divide the table into four quarters. Each table quarter that contains at least one of yourunits with a Unit Strength of 5 or more that is not fleeing, and no enemy units which are

    Q. Will the Kislev Book be valid for use this year?A. Unfortunately not. Only Warhammer Armies: books that are currently in print will beincluded in the event. This includes Chaos Dwarfs not being permitted, but not Dogs of Warfor the purposes of this event. Dogs of War will be allowed for this year, with its inclusion infuture events on a case by case basis.

However, there is nothing to stop you using Kislev models to Count As Empire troops. Thisway you can still use the army in the competition.

    Q. I am using empire and my friend using wood elves.1. Can a warrior priest use some of his prayers on wood elves e.g. healing hand: target

model heals all wounds?2. Can wood elves wizard cast spells on my empire units?3. Are all the dispel dice added into one pool or kept separate for the 2 armies?

    A. See below. In order

    1. In this instance yes. Where appropriate, one factions spells may be applied to the otherfactions units.

    2. Yes see previous answer.3. Each army (the combination of both players forces) should be considered as normal

when it comes to the magic phase. For example an army made up of 750pts of Empirewith a level 2 wizard and 750pts of High Elves would generate:

2 power dice in the pool (usable by any wizard)+ 2 power dice for the Empire wizard (only usable by the Empire wizard)+ 2 power dice for the first High Elf wizard (only usable by the first HE wizard)+ 2 power dice for the second High Elf wizard (only usable by the second HE wizard)

2 dispel dice in the pool+ 1 dispel dice for each of the level 2 wizardsEqualling 5 dispel dice.

In effect the magic phase is treated the same as playing with a 1500pt army.

The only real change is when using Dwarfs. Dwarf armies should generate 4 dispel dice asstandard. However with doubles it is possible to have only half the army made up of Dwarfs. When this occurs only 3 dispel dice are generated rather than 4. When the army is a twinDwarf army it will generate 4 dispel dice as normal.

Armies which include High Elves gain their +1 to dispel as long as there is a High Elf Magealive.

Tomb Kings Magic must still be used in the hieratic order but other wizards from the alliedcontingent may cast their spells at any point during the magic phase.

    Q. Can a Wargor with the Mark of Tzeentch carry the Staff of Darkoth?A.The book says that only Bray Shamen may use the item however, Mark of Tzeentchsays that the Hero is now classed as a Level 2 Wizard. I think that the answer should be no,as he starts off as a Wargor, rather than a Bray Shamen, and by some twist of fate, orwhatever, he gains the ability to use magic items. He still remains a Wargor with a ChaosMark, not a Bray Shamen No he cant use the item.

    Q. Can Beastmen ambush in the Meeting Engagement. As Scouts still deploy differently Iguess the Beastmen can Ambush but worth confirming.

    A. I think that they should be able to Ambush however, the beastmen units are not classedas Scouts according to their rules therefore they follow the Ambush special rules, not Scoutrules.

Q.Will the special rules regarding pursuit (Manflayers may not pursue but gain +100 VictoryPoints for each enemy unit they break or wipe out) apply in the tournament?

    A. If they are part of the units special rules as written in their army list, then yes. If not, thenno.

Q.The scoring rules for the Meeting Engagement scenario are not clear in the TournamentRules Pack. It suggests that table quarters will be worth 500 rather than 200 VPs while theWarhammer Rules Book suggests that table quarters are worth 100 VPs. Am I missingsomething?A.Yes see the house rules document.

    Q. It seems, within our interpretation of the rulebook, that skirmishers can no longer marchwithin 8" of enemy models. Is this correct and should we stop harking back to the outmodeddays of 6th edition?

    A. See p 15 in the Warhammer Rulebook Troops can march if there are no enemy troopswithin 8 In addition, see p65 Skirmishing models are moved in the same way as individualman-sized characters on footthe entire unit must form a loose group or line with models nomore than 1 apart.

Q.You need a strength 5 unit to control a sector but as the notes are written you only seemto need a strength 1 unit to contest a sector. This does not seem to be correct. Then againmaybe a sector is only contested if both sides have a strength 5 unit controlling it. Help!

    A. The phrase you are looking at is if there are two opposing units equidistant from theobjective then neither side gains the bonus.

Because it does not state the unit strengths requirements of these units to contest, you areasking whether they need to have US 5 or not.

It is very clear that the intention of the rules is that only US 5 units count so in order to contestat all you must have US 5.

    Anything less does not count.
