TheAccuDrawworkflowIfyouplantouseAccuDrawyoumayneedtochangeyourworkflowbecause,whenenabled,AccuDrawconsidersthreethingsandchangesitsbehavioraccordingly.
First,itconsidersatthecurrenttool.Forexample,iftheactivetoolisPlaceBlockitwillremaininaRectangularmodewhichisexpressedasXandYdistancesfromitsorigin.IftheselectedtoolisPlaceArc,AccuDrawwillautomaticallyswitchtoPolarmodewhichisexpressedasdistanceandangle.Second,AccuDrawconsidersthelocationofthepointerwithrespecttoitsorigin.Asyoumovethepointeraroundthecompass,AccuDrawautomaticallyupdatestheXandYvaluesintheAccuDrawwindowskeyinfieldstoreflectthedistancethepointerisfromitsorigin.Ifnodatapointisentered,thevaluesshowabsolutecoordinates.
Finally,AccuDrawconsidersandinterpretskeyboardshortcuts.Thesearesingleordualcharacterkeyinstodriveitsbehavior.AnexampleisusingthespacebartotogglebetweentheRectangularandPolarmodes.

3DTipsandHintsChangeswhenplacingcellsandtextwithAccuDrawInpreviousversionsofMicroStation,theAccuDrawcompasswasvisibleatitslastlocation,whichenabledyoutoeasilyflipcellorientationpriortoplacement.ThiswasdoneusingtheAccuDrawshortcutsT,F,SandE.NowAccuDrawadjustsforanyACSlockchanges,whichresultsinthecompassnolongerbeingatitspreviouslocation.
Ifyouplaceacellin3D,youllnoticethatwhenthePlaceCelltoolisactivated,thecompassisnotatthecelloriginandthereforetheAccuDrawshortcutsdonotflipthecellasexpected.Toensurethattheelementiscorrectlyplaced,youneedtoexplicitlyenable/positiontheAccuDrawcompassbeforethefirstdatapointisentered.SetthecompassbypressingCtrl+tentative,F11+O,thespacebar+O,ortentative+O.Inallcases,thecompasswillbeattheselectedlocationwhichletsyoutoflipthecell.
ThisbehaviorandworkflowistrueforthePlaceTexttool,aswell.
