Findings of MI FINDINGS

District covered : Kohima

1.Out of 40 schools, 25 schools are not serving MDM daily.2.No regularity in delivering the food grains to the school level in majority of the schools (25 schools)3.Majority of the schools do not maintained buffer stock of one month.4.Delivery of cooking cost is found to be irregular. Schools are managing on credit basis due to the delay of cooking cost5.39 schools do not display the weekly menu.6.Majority of the schools found the quality of the meal quite good.

7.Out of the 40 schools only in 15 schools children were given micro nutrients.8.Health cards are not maintained in the schools.9.The remuneration of Rs. 10000 yearly and some on daily wages were paid to cooks/helpers and are not paid regularly .10.Potable water is hardly existing in the schools11.Community participation is found to be very poor.12. Out Of 40 schools, 18 schools were never visited by any of the officials.13.Kitchen sheds are available in 36 schools out of the 38 visited schools
