Year 11 Moroccan Food

Tasting Expo

The year 5 students were invited

to participate in a Moroccan

food expo run by the year 11

Food and Hospitality students as

part of their assignment. Students

had the opportunity to taste a

variety of foods and to see

some traditional ingredients.

From the Principal

Dear Families,

It has been a busy few weeks in the lead up to end of term 3.

• Last week’s Primary team games event was a resounding success. It was extremely

positive, and finished with one of the closest sports day results we have ever seen.

Amazingly, after quite a few years without a win, the Luther team was triumphant. The

result was not known until the end of the very last event.

• Tomorrow night is one of the highlights of the year. It is the Year 12 Formal, where we

celebrate in style the culmination of all the hard work that has led up to the end of the

Primary and Secondary schooling years.

Our Year 12 group has been fantastic, and set a good standard of conduct and work

habits.

We are looking forward to a great night, with family and close friends in attendance to

celebrate in style.

• As we finish up for holidays this week, now would be a good time to take up the free

Family Zone trial, to see if this service is a good fit for you and your family.

Please go to:

https://www.familyzone.com/midnorthcc and use the code fz123 to trial the service until

the end of the year.

Mid North Christian College Notices

• Recently there seems to have been a lot of sickness, and a lot of weariness. I hope and pray that these two weeks of

break will bring good opportunities to rest and recharge from the busy-ness of everything that has been going on.

Our last Bible verse from Galatians this week is “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we wil l

reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

Fruitfulness is a strong Biblical concept, and as we know in gardening it comes after planning, effort, attention to detail,

and follow through to the finish. It can be easy to give up when weary or when overwhelmed. But let’s not give up easily.

At this time it is good to review our priorities and work habits, and reflect on which things are sapping our effectiveness,

and which things are energising us?

Have a great break, and we look forward to seeing you back again Tuesday October 17th.

Your Servant

Matt Paterson

PRIMARY MUSICAL PERFORMANCE

The end of year performance will be held here at MNCC on Thursday December 7th.

The Primary classes will each perform the item they are preparing.

There will be two performances, to allow parents and guests to see the show.

There will be a meal in between the performances for the community.

We have decided to plan for the next senior musical to be performed next year, which will be at the Northern Festival

Centre.

PAGEANT

The Port Pirie Twilight Christmas Pageant will be held on Saturday December 2nd.

Last year a group of our super keen parents organised a boat to be set up as a float with the theme “Noah’s Ark”

It was such a success they would like to do it again, only even better!

Kerry Stephens, Katie Evans and their families were key organisers last year, and would like to again make it happen!

Please contact the Front Office if you would like to be involved in the organisation of our float.

FAMILY ZONE

After some delay, we are pleased to announce the trial Family Zone service is available to subscribe at:

https://www.familyzone.com/midnorthcc

Password: fz123

As announced previously, it is free until the end of the year.

SUMMER & WINTER UNIFORM

Full summer uniform will be required as of Term 4. Summer uniform pre-order forms can be collected from the front office or

please email your order to [email protected] . Please Note– The uniform Shop will not be open during the

holidays. Uniform pre-orders can be collected from Monday Term 1 (Student Free Day).

BREAKFAST CLUB

Breakfast Club will commence Wednesday Week 2 with pancakes, there will be no breakfast Week 1.

Year 6 BBQ

Last Friday the Year 6 class organized

Chapel. The theme for the week’s daily

devotions was the Fruits of the Spirit. The

year 6 students learnt a new song called,

Joy in the Holy Ghost, and taught it to the

junior and primary school. They also

prepared short 30 second skits, each one

displaying one of the Fruits of the Spirit. For

lunch that day the Year 6’s prepared home

made hamburgers to the junior and primary

classes. We would like to thank both Mr and

Mrs May for giving up their Friday afternoon

to organize their BBQ. Thank you.

ICAS English results

The following students did very well in the ICAS English competition held

earlier this year. This competition has many thousands of students

competing across all Australian states and several other countries.

Primary Team Games Day

Last Thursday the Primary Wesley & Luther teams competed in the

Team Games Day. It was a very close competition and everyone did

a fantastic job in the relays, sprints, and kicking returns. At the end of

the events, the points were tallied and Luther won! Congratulations to

everyone who participated, it was an excellent day.

BRING HOME A BIG BROTHER OR SISTER AND BRING FRENCH,

ITALIAN OR SPANISH CULTURE TO LIFE!

We have a small group of delightful students coming to Australia for 11

weeks to immerse in local Australian culture, experience our High

schools, sports, environment and lifestyle. All these internation-

al students are around 15 or 16 years old, speak excellent English,

have their own spending money, cover all school expenses, and we

arrange all aspects of their program. They are looking forward to join-

ing an Australian family for a short term cultural immersion stay. It’s fun

and interesting to help these young people achieve their Australian

dream. If you would like to know more, please email your interest to
