Middle School Credit System

Students must pass 13 academic courses before moving on to Sebring or Avon Park High School.

The academic courses include:

3 Reading/Language Arts3 Math3 Science3 Social Studies

1 Semester of Career Education

Each course must be passed with a

60% or higher to receive the credit.

What happens if your student fails a class?

• The State of Florida says if you fail a class, you’re going to have

to fix it, and the only

way to fix it is to do it over.

Hypothetically let’s say your child fails science and history this year…..

If your child fails Science and History,

his/her schedule next year will look something like this:

Whoa! Two sciences and two histories . . . lots of work.

Students cannot progress to the next grade if 3 core classes are failed.

Now is the time to buckle down and study hard!
