    Position Description and Qualifications

    Position Title: Middle School Programs CoordinatorReports To: Program DirectorHours: Full Time and some evenings/weekends

    Summary: Develop two existing Middle School Programs within a comprehensive community-wideinitiative in the McPherson Neighborhood, Napa, California: the Middle School Leadership Academy atSilverado Middle School and Middle School After School Programs at Silverado, Harvest and AmericanCanyon Middle Schools.

    All staff involved with this initiative are dedicated to promote and empower children and youth inNapa, with an emphasis on the Latino community:

    Strategies used throughout this initiative include youth development, academic course work,

    project based learning concepts, community mobilization, after school programming with astrong emphasis in youth leadership development and family engagement and support.

    These strategies will support children, youth, and families further their education and

    community. Our ultimate goal is to create a Napa community in which all people have equal opportunities

    for healthy, meaningful lives.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Develop and implement programming for the Middle School Leadership Academy and Middle

    School After School Programs, with a possible expansion of programming within the year.

    Collaborate with teachers, school administrators, On The Move staff and community members.

    Train and provide supervision for direct service staff.

    Provide direct services to middle school youth when needed.

    Coordinate the development of management systems that support programming.

    Work with Program Director to report results and outcomes of these programs to funders.

    Monitor outcomes and evaluation of services.

    Develop and sustain parent component to support all programming.

    Be responsible for the administration of standards and procedures related to personnel,including staff development, budget and physical facility.

    Represent On The Moves Middle School Programming at various meetings and events within

    the McPherson Neighborhood Initiative and Napa Community.

    Minimum Applicant Qualifications:

    At least 4 years experience in direct service to middle or high school youth in an education oryouth development setting.

    At least 2 years experience of non-profit program development and managing staff.

    Knowledge of public school systems. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.

    Experience working with parents and community members.

    Willingness to learn, grow and adapt.

    A Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university is preferred.

    Fluency in Spanish preferred.

    Salary to be negotiated. Start dateimmediately.
