Important Issues for Parents

• Creating memories

• Empathy

• Time and space

• Practical help and understanding

• Sensitivity

• Communication with parents

• Accurate record keeping and communication

• In utero

• Support afterwards

Important Issues for Parents

• Memories became fundamental, as parents could

take only these with them, not the baby they

were expecting:

‘Memories are what you want, you need, to make.

You need to cram a life time of memories in

to the short time you have with your baby…All

parents want is their child, there is no substitute

for that. But as that is not to be, the time they

have together must be as special as possible.’
