Nathalie Grima has recently completed her Masters in Sociology at the University of Malta. Her fieldwork for a research-based dissertation focused on political transnational-ism among foreign residents in Malta, who are first generation migrants from North Afri-can and Middle Eastern countries. She developed an interest within the psychological field and furthered her education by reading a Master of Arts in Transcultural Counselling. Josephine Vella joined the Civil Service in 1976 and was posted at the Social Security Department where she still serves. For 24 years she worked at the Short-Term Benefit Section, 8 years of which as Supervisor. Spent 2 years at the Pensions Section working on re-assessments. He is especially well known for his work on fertility, and in recent years he has studied how migration and fertility work together to determine patterns of inter-generational replacement.

The European Migration Network (EMN) plays a key role in providing up-to-date, objective, reliable and comparable information on migration and aslyum topics to policy makers (at EU and Member State level) and the general public.
