This investigation introduces students to the first part of linear programming used to solve an optimization problem: the creation of a model that includes both algebraic and graphical representations.The same problem will be revisited in Lesson 6.5. Students will use the model they create here to explore the relationship between a graphical model and an objective function. In Lesson 6.6, they will again revisit the problem and use linear programming to solve it.
