1.3 Important safety notices

Product temperature at the outlet and inside the milk tub (when heated) is approx. 80°C. Water temperature in the heating tub (when heated) is approximately 85°C.

Danger of scalding and burns. Do not open the unit, do not remove the side partitions. No user-serviceable parts inside.

Danger of burns, electrical shocks and/or crushing.

Always switch the unit off during longer idle times (at night, over the week-end or holidays, etc.)

Always install the unit on a level and stable surface.

Do not dry dishcloths on top of the unit. This could hinder the inner air flow and cause overheating.

Do not pull on the cable to remove the plug from the socket.

For sanitary reasons, the milk tub lids should always be closed during operation.

During operation, the milk is heated and stored within the unit. Use for purposes other than stated above may cause serious damage to the unit and is therefore not allowed. Damages resulting from inappropriate use are excluded from the warranty.

The unit must be operated under strict observance of all local and national rules and regulations, particularly those concerning safety, at all times.

Make sure that every person working with this unit has read and understood the present manual before starting to work. Keep the manual available near the unit at all times.

Carelessness can be harmful. Do not allow children or untrained personnel to operate this unit.

Water in the heating tank ensures correct transmission of the heating energy. If the heating tank does not contain enough water, the milk will not reach the necessary temperature.

Observe the given water quantities for the heating tank carefully. Overfilling will result in spilling when inserting the milk tub.

Danger of short-circuit and damage to the unit.

4.7 Products Press the button corresponding to the product required. Wait until the product output is completed before pressing another button. Preselection (selection of a product while another is being given out) is not possible here.

5 Maintenance All technical maintenance operations will be carried out by a qualified technician from your regional EGRO Customer Service point. The User is responsible for the daily cleaning of the unit.

6 Care Clean the outer surfaces with common household cleaning products. Avoid agressive or corrosive substances which can damage the plastic and chromed surfaces.

Working with fresh milk requires strict observance of sanitary measures and high hygienical standards. First-class products can only be attained with painstaiking cleanliness at all times. Follow the recommended cleaning procedures every day

Do not use compressed air, water or steam jets to clean the unit. Danger of electric shock, damage to the unit and short-circuit.

6.1 Cleaning

The cleaning procedure for parts constantly in contact with milk consists of three separate steps: manual cleaning of foamer head, milk tub and milk hose; cleaning program (with or without the coffee machine); rinse program

Switch the unit OFF before removing the foamer head. Once the foamer head is removed, milk and coffee will come straight out if a product button is pressed.

Danger of scalding and burns.

6.1.1 Manual cleaning

1. Release the foaming head by pressing the release button above it

2. Remove the foaming head by turning and pulling forward

3. Take the foaming head apart 4. Remove the coffee outlet 5. Extract the honeycomb by pulling it straight out 6. Clean the seat of the honeycomb 7. Wash all parts with a brush, replace starting with

the honeycomb 8. Remove the milk hose and take apart the air

valve

9. Remove the level and temperature sensor 10. Pull out the milk tub, discard the used lining bag 11. Wash all parts with a brush 12. Clean out the heating tank, if necessary remove water residues 13. Set milk hose and valve together again 14. Replace all parts starting with the milk tub

Do not use sharp objects (knife, fork) to clean the inside of the milk tub. Avoid scratching the surface. Always soak the tub beforehand to dissolve milk residues. The use of disposable lining bags is strongly recommended.

Lime deposits in the heating tub can be removed by applying any household deliming product. Rinse out carefully; follow the manufacturer's instructions for the product used.

6.1.2 Cleaning program

The Milker cleaning program starts automatically with the cleaning program on the coffee machine. It is also possible to run the Milker cleaning program separately. This is recommended where the Milker is used less than the coffee machine (e.g. only at breakfast time).

To remove lime deposits, replace the regular cleaning fluid (Milton double stregth) with the acid delimer once a week.

Fill 1,5 liter warm (not hot) water with 50 ml special cleaning fluid (Milton double stregth) in the milk tub Switch the Milker ON with the main switch

Coffee machine + Milker together

Milker separately

3. Start the cleaning program on the coffee machine by pressing STOP for 5 secs, insert tablet, press STOP again

4. Both cleaning programs run automatically (approx. 20 min.). Afterwards both machines switch to standby mode (heating off), unless the coffee machine is programmed for continuous use.

3. Place the key switch on the coffee machine in pos. 3; wait until "DAILY TOTAL" is displayed.

4. Press Milker key no. 4 for 2 secs 5. Return the key switch on the coffee

machine in its original position 6. The Milker cleaning program runs

automatically for approx. 20 min. Afterward the unit switches to standby mode. It can now be turned off manually (main switch).

Turn the unit off for longer pauses.

6.1.3 Rinse program The rinse program will remove residues of cleaning fluid from the unit. At best it is run just before starting to work again. If the cleaning programs have been run simultaneously and the Milker has not been turned off manually, the coffee machine displays the message 'RINSE MILKER' to remind the user that the cleaning solution has not been rinsed off. In all other cases the rinsing procedure must be started manually. 1. Fill the milk tub with 3-4 liter fresh water

Display: 'RINSE MILKER' Hand procedure

2. Press any key on the Milker; rinse runs automatically (approx. 2 min). Press again if water is left over or to stop.

3. When the tub is empty, press STOP on the coffee machine.

4. You can now fill with milk.

2. Place the key switch on the coffee machine in pos. 3; wait until "DAILY TOTAL" is displayed.

3. Press keys 1 and 2 on the Milker alternatively, until all water is gone

4. Return the key switch on the coffee machine in its original position

5. You can now fill with milk.

The coffee machine cannot heat as long as the message 'RINSE MILKER' is displayed. Reset the message by pressing the STOP button on the coffee machine.

6.2 What to do if ....

Problem Possible cause Try this: No milk or foam • The lining bag is blocking the milk

inlet ⇒ move the milk hose slightly to free

the inlet • Milk tub is empty ⇒ fill • Milker and/or coffee machine are not

on ⇒ switch on

• Milk hose is not carrying properly (milk residues)

⇒ clean more carefully; run a couple of cleaning programs with the acid delimer; remove the hose and soak it

Foam is not 'foamy' enough • Not enoug air ⇒ unplug the air hole on the air valve above the milk hose with a needle

Heating time is too long / milk is lukewarm or cold

• No water in the heating tank ⇒ fill

Coffee machine does not heat

• 'RINSE MILKER' message is not reset ⇒ rinse the Milker if not already done; press STOP button on the coffee machine

'MILK' LED is on • Error by level and temperature sensor ⇒ check the sensor connection

Do not open the unit, do not remove the outside casing.

Danger of shoks and burning. No user-serviceable parts inside. Repairs and maintenance must be carried out by an official EGRO service engineer.

6.3 Wear parts

Your service engineer will provide all parts required for repairs and maintenance purposes.
