An outdoor mid-week music and food series presented in the heart of downtown introducing you to the rich musical talent in our region as well as the local culinary sector. Jazz and Blues at the Station … every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. from June 19 to August 21. Collingwood Art Crawl / Live & Original Music Crawl … September 21 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Free, self-guided art walk, featuring over 100 artists at more than 40 venues, with live music and incredible art, all in Downtown Collingwood. Plus Guided and self-guided tours featuring the architecture of historic downtown, the magnificent harbour and waterfront, the natural trails and culinary creations from our chefs ….. from May to October! Heritage murals were commissioned between 1999 and 2001 featuring culture, people and events from our community’s past. 1 SIDE LAUNCH By John Hood and Alexandra Hood, 2000 Hurontario Street and First Street This mural heralds the magnificent ships and their launches that drew thousands to the harbour to see the spectacle. 2 BUSY WAGONS By John Hood, 1999 Hurontario and Second Street An 84 foot-long acrylic painting on brick depicting the main street as it might have been at the turn of the century. 3 SKI TRAIN By Richard Gill, 2001 86 Hurontario Street Individually sculpted and kiln-fired clay pieces depict the 1950’s “ski train” arriving at the Craigleith Station baring passengers bound for the ski hills. 4 OUR COMMUNITY By (right to left) Bill Hartman (shown above), Jane Cooper-Wilson, Willi Wildman, Gordon Kemp, Shirley Farmer, 2001 97 Hurontario Street, Eddie Bush Memorial Arena Five paintings combine to show the development of Collingwood – from the first inhabitants of the nearby escarpment, the Petun Indians, to the construction of the grain depot and finally recreation on the water today. PUBLIC ART MURALS COLLINGWOOD’S HISTORY PANELS Created as a legacy project for Collingwood’s Sesquicentennial celebrations in 2008, these four panels trace the history of our community from its birth until 2008. Farmers’ Market … every Saturday morning from May to Thanksgiving Weekend. Local vendors feature a wide variety of freshly picked seasonal produce, naturally raised meats, preserves, baked goods and more.
