When using this bookThe book you are holding is packed with useful information. It exists for many reasons:

• to help you in your work by providing easy-to-follow guidelines for the proper use of Millennium West brand elements;

• to help ensure consistency in communication of the brand;

• to provide a statement that declares, protects, and strengthens the brand.

Designers and other communicators are encouraged to take a look at the entire book before diving into the designer’s toolkit.

One of the key factors in any new identity is the use of a specified type family for text or running copy. Using a consistent family of typefaces visually reinforces the Brand of Millennium West.

Cambria Regular, Bold and Italic are used on all of the pieces of the stationery system for address lines, names, titles etc.

Myriad Pro in its various weights and faces can be used for advertisements, brochures and other communications when a sans serif face is appropriate. Myriad Pro should be used when special characters and accents are needed.

It is recommended to stay true to the Millennium West brand palette in wardrobe with the primary brand colors of Millennium Blue and Wellness Yellow. However, it is acceptable to deviate from this when it is not practical to wear blue/yellow.

All Nurses and Doctors must wear scrubs in the indicated color PMS 288. By wearing PMS 288 we can distinguish between Nurses/Doctors and Operation Room & Post Anesthesia Care Staff.

All scrub tops have the Millennium West master signature above the pocket located in the upper left. In order to be legible the master wordmark is always in all white treatment.

Standard white lab coat uses the blue treatment for the master signature. All lab coats are white.

Jackets for the nurses are only available in three solid colors: white, millennium yellow, and wellness blue. The white jacket uses the blue treatment of the master signature whereas the yellow and blue jacket uses the white treatment.

No other jacket is allowed unless otherwise stated.

Since Service workers are not part of the medical field they are not required to wear scrubs as their uniform.

Service workers are required to wear white, collared, button up shirts. The master signature has a blue treatment and is located above the pocket on the upper left side. Dark brown pants accompany the white shirt.

Another choice that service workers have for uniforms is a grey jumpsuit with the master signature located above the front left pocket. The master signature has a white treatment to the master wordmark.All shoes worn by service workers must be work boots that are brown leather with a thick sole.

The helicopter overall length is 50΄ long with entrances on both sides as well as a rear door. From the wheel base to the base of the helicopter is 1΄ 7 ῎. From the base of the helicopter to the top of the body is 9΄ 5῎. The striped design, from the nose of the helicopter to where it ends is 41΄ 4 ῎ and is 4΄ 5῎ wide. Cab shell:The striped design starts at the base of the ambulance where the cab meets the cab shell and ends at the top diagonal corner. The master wordmark is 3΄ x 7΄ using the blue treatment for the master signature. This is flushed left above the center of the cab shell, opposite for passanger side of vehicle.

On the cab: A blue retangle runs the entire length of the cab. The master signature is in the middle of the rectangle section that covers the door. The master signature is 1΄ x 3῎.Under the master signature is the location of the hospital, which is flushed left lining up with the master signature. The location is 10῎ x 2΄. The dimensions for the ambulance is 22΄ x 9΄ x 6 1/2΄.

The ambulance rear doors are reflective using a striped pattern to raise caution for those behind the ambulance. The stripes are using the main colors of the brand Millennium West, PMS 1375 and PMS 2758.

The buses dimensions are 40΄x 10΄x 8 1/2΄.The striped design starts a 1΄ above the base of the bus and extends a foot below the top of the window. The design runs the length of the bus and curves up at the end at the top of the bus. Also running the entire length of the bus is the master symbol. Starting 2΄ below the top of the window to the end of the bus, ending in the bottom right corner. The master wordmark is centered between the wheels of the bus, and is 1΄ from the base of the bus. The master wordmark is 11΄x 2 1/2΄. The descriptor line is 8῎ from the base of the bus. The descriptor is 4 1/2΄ x 1 1/2΄.

Our signage is a monument to our valuable corporate identity. Consistency and recognition are the qualities best communicated when integrating our design system into our facility identification. Signage is Millennium West’s largest and most visible application. Maintaining the integrity of our core identity elements is important during manufacturing.

The blue part of the sign dimensions are15΄ x 2΄ x 30΄. The blue is part of the Millennium West branding, PMS 2758. The base dimensions are 22΄ x 5 ῎ x 3΄. The yellow is also part of the Millennium West branding using PMS 1375.

The master signature is 5΄ x 12΄, centered at the top. Emergency, Ambulances, and Parking are all 1΄ x 3΄ with 1 1/2΄ in between.

The floor directory that is placed on the wall is 36῎ x 36῎ and should be placed no higher than 36῎ from the floor. It has to be able to be read by all heights of people.The floor map starts 1 1/2῎ in from the right edge and ends at 9 1/2῎. From the top it starts at 61/2῎ and extends down to 26῎ from the top.The text for what floor the directory is on starts at 7 1/2῎ from the right and 5 1/2in from the top. It is 140pt Myriad Pro Semi bold and kerned 10. The floor listings in the first column start at 12῎ from the top and are 108pt Myriad pro semi bold and kerned 10. The second column of floors are the same typeface and size and start at 14in from the left edge. The listings of what is on each floor are 44pt Myriad pro regular with 59pt leading and kerned 25. Remember each floor name is the same color as the color the floor signs have been designated.

As the direction rotates the triangle stays the same size.The cream colored box is 8῎ x 14῎ and the type starts 1/2῎ from the top of this box. The parking garage signs are 8in x 9in and sit 36 1/2῎ from the ground. The P is 600pt Myriad Pro semi bold and will al-ways be white with the background color the color designated to that floor. The floor number is 400pt Myriad pro semi bold and will always be in the white area and sit 3/4῎ from the bottom.They should be placed near the exits and around the parking garage, to make it easier for employees and visitors to remember where they parked.

These are some patient applications in order for patients to feel more at home when coming into the hospital.

Patient gowns are made from 100% breathable cotton, that isn’t scratchy or stiff.

Socks have rubber designs on the bottom to prevent patients from slipping. The master symbol makes up the design.

Patient wristbands are always worn on the left hand wrist. They are 1 1/2῎ x 7῎. One size fits all. A watermark is located behind the patient’s information in order to prevent false wristbands. All information on wristband is in Myriad Pro in 13pt.

ClearspaceThe minimum area around a logo or graphic element necessary to pro-vide the best legibility.

Color PaletteThe set of approved colors to be used throughout communications. This applies to color fields and type, not to photographic imagery.

Flush Left, Rag RightA typographic specification indicat-ing that copy will appear aligned on the left margin and will break natu-rally on the right, giving a ragged appearance to the right margin.
