PTA meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. in the Upper Campus the second Tues-day of every month unless otherwise notified. There is a mailbox in the school office if you need to contact any of the members of PTA. The com-mittee binder is available in the PTA mailbox if you would like to sign-up for a PTA committee. -If you would like to make a donation of monthly birthday cupcakes please contact the PTA.

LOWER CAMPUS-MORNING DROP-OFF PROCEDURES ON 88th STREET

Just a gentle reminder that as families drop off students in the morning it is important to pull on-to the street safely as you pull away from the curb on 88th Street. We’ve had a lot of “almost accidents” and we want all of our families to be safe. Remember that drop off starts at 8:50 am and continues to 9:10 am. Students are marked tardy after 9:10am.

Parent Teacher Conferences MSIS Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, March 5th 2018 and Wednesday, March 7th 2018 at 4:15pm-8:00pm for both the Upper Campus and Lower Cam-pus. This will be a wonderful opportunity to discus your child’s academic success and behaviors. During the MSIS Parent Teacher Conferences parents are encourage to discuss any con-cerns or information to the teachers, that pertains to their child. Please keep in mind that time is of the essence, therefore con-ferences will promptly begin at your scheduled time.

MSIS- Milwaukee Admirals Reading Program Every student at MSIS will receive a Reading Log each month to track the minutes read or books read for each month. At the end of the month the Reading Log should be returned to school with a parent signature . Those students who turn in a completed log each month will receive a free ticket to a Spring Admirals Game.

Brief and or full day ab-sences If your child is ill or has a valid reason for leaving school early or missing a full day, please call us the day of the ab-sence to report the brief or full day absence. For a full day absence par-ents must also send a written excuse the follow-

ing day. CALL phone 414-604-7660. Other-wise the absence will be unexcused.

SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY All students who have not been opted out of the uniforms, must wear school uniforms. School uniforms consist of black, tan, navy blue or khaki style pants, shorts, skirts, or dress-es. The tops consist of red or navy blue col-lared tops. School uni-forms will be worn Monday—Thursday.

We are currently taking a school wide com-munity survey for uniform use for next year. If you haven’t already done so please complete the survey and return it to school. This is not a passive survey only surveys re-turned will determine if MSIS will follow the district uniform policy.

DISSMISSAL PROCEDURES -To ensure an orderly dismissal at both campuses, no student will be released to the office after 3:15pm. Any changes to your child’s pick-up arrangement needs to be made in writing or verbally by calling the office (414)604-7600 but no later than 2:00pm.

- All students must be signed out in the office when picked up early.

*Student Pick-up begins at UC -3:30 p.m. LC-3:45 p.m. through the designated doors.

We ask that our parents be considerate of our neighbors and school and avoid parking on 55th St. at our Upper Campus and on Warnimount St at our Lower Campus. Our school busses as well as our drop off ar-eas are located on these streets and parking on those streets will cause severe traffic jams and disturb our neighbors. All parking regulations will be enforced by the City of Milwaukee.

February Attendance Our attendance goal is to maintain an attendance rate of 95%. A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to the teachers who had the highest attendance in the month of February. They have earned the attendance trophy plush, Tomas!
