Big Draw & October half term week
BIG DRAW House event Sunday 14 October, 1-3pm. Free, limited places.
Decorate your very own cardboard dwelling to create a full house at mima! To take part in this unique event, tell us in no more than 30 words why you, your family or group, should be given one of our 50 free house kits. The most wonderfully decorated house will be announced at the end of the day.
Email your entries by Friday 28 September to [email protected] or write to Claire at mima, Centre Square, Middlesbrough TS1 2AZ. We will let you know if you have a free house kit in early October.
Christmas Art Trolley PartyA special afternoon of Christmas-inspired making, with Christmas biscuit decorating, live music, festive face painting and art trolley activities. Saturday 22 December, 1-4pm. Free, all welcome.
BIG DRAW Art TrolleyGet drawing as part of the national Big Draw celebrations at mima. Enjoy drawing activities all through the month as part of the Saturday art trolley, or join us for daily drawing events throughout October half-term. Tuesday 30 October - Friday 2 November, 11am-12 noon. Drop in. Free. free

Regular family activities
Art TrolleyOur hands-on art activities are suitable for all the family. Every Saturday, 1-4pm. Just drop in. Free, all welcome.
mini mimaFun interactive art activities with circle time and refreshments for 0-4 year olds and their parents/carers. Every Thursday in term time, 10-11.30am. £3.50 per child, accompanying adult free. Please book in advance, come along to one session or a block.
Summer holiday family activities
Holiday Art Trolley Our hands-on art activities are suitable for all the family and run throughout the summer holidays.Tuesdays-Fridays between 23 July and 31 August, 11am-12noon. Just drop in. Free, all welcome.
Summer schoolA fun four-day creative summer school for 8-12 year olds. Activities will include drawing, making, printing, clay and outdoor and indoor games. Bring a packed lunch. Tuesday 31 July - Friday 3 August, 10.30am-2.30pm. £50 per child. Please book in advance.
mima|familyHello. Did you know that mima, Middlesbrough’s art gallery, has family activities and special events all year round, many of them free of charge? Enjoy our café’s family friendly menu and shop for arty gifts for children and adults. We have spacious baby changing facilities and even toddler toilets! Come along for a great day out and a warm family welcome.
Fun FridaysCreative workshops for 8-12 year olds with printing, drawing, creative games and clay. Fridays 10, 17, 24, 31 August. 10.30am-12.30pm. £5 per child. Price includes refreshments. Please book in advance.
NEW Summer Sunday Art Trolley Our hands-on art activities are suitable for all the family. Every Sunday over the summer holidays, 12.30pm - 3.30pm. Just drop in. Free, all welcome. Please note: café mima is not open on Sundays.
Family Portrait SaturdayHave your family portraits taken at mima. Bring a favourite object from home, or choose one of mima’s mystery props! You will receive a digital copy of your portrait and mima will keep one for exhibition and archives. Additional prints can be ordered from evephotography.co.uk. Please note, this is a drop-in session and you may be asked to queue. Saturday 21 July, 12noon-4pm. £10 per photograph.
Kite WorkshopBe inspired by work in mima’s metadomestic exhibition to make your own colourful kite to fly in Centre Square. Wednesday 8 August, 12noon-1pm, 1-2pm, 2-3pm. Please note: maximum of 30 spaces per workshop. Please book in advance. £4 per kite. Pay at reception.

Make!Create your own home-inspired artwork using mima’s magnetic homewares, utensils and curiosities in the first floor galleries.
