• The annual fee is fully inclusive of a site visit to the client’s premises, retrieval from stores, condition reporting, transport, transit insurance, art handling and installation by the mima technical team.

• The cost of removal, transport, audit, conservation and storage will be met by mima.

• The hire fee must be paid in full before the artwork is dispatched to the client’s premises and proof of insurance is required.

• The hire fee is based upon the insurance value of the work of the artwork and is subject to change.

• Insurance is the responsibility of the client and should be covered by most ‘All Risks’ policies.

• An annual hire contract applies.

mima facilitates professional and accessiblecreative sessions for all types of businesses,providing an affordable and uniquealternative to more conventional teambuilding opportunities. Classes range fromlunchtime sessions to whole day events. Allevents are accessible to everyone, and suitthe absolute art beginner through to the moreexperienced.

Creative TeambuildingThese sessions are based on team games,with the aim of developing a product orresponding to a creative task beforepresenting outcomes to a 'Dragons’ Den' stylejudging panel. Tasks develop skills arounddelegation, time management, creativethinking, problem solving and presentationskills. Half or full days are available, withlunch options if required.

The following session options are available:

Drawing Inventions – teams invent a newdrawing machine and present back to the widerteam and panel. The winning team will have adrawing from their invention framed and presentedback to the company.

Take One Picture – teams create a new pieceof work in response to artworks on display inmima’s galleries. The winning piece will be framedand presented back to the company.

Temporary Art Installations – teams developexperimental artworks that respond to mima'sarchitecture and design ethos. Each installationwill be photographed and presented back to thecompany as a commemorative CD.

Still Life Drawing – these dynamic sessions aredesigned to encourage fresh ideas and approachesto stimulate sustainable creative energy beyondthe gallery walls. Life drawing at mima offers botha traditional as well as an experimental approach,exploring new techniques, ideas and styles.

Experimental Life Drawing – the aim is toconcentrate on a clothed life model as a startingpoint for exploring a range of themes and ideas.Lighting, props, sound, materials and the designfeatures of the building will all help to develop avisual landscape from which to take inspiration.Combined with a range of materials that may benew to some participants, these are inspirationalsessions that assist in personal development andcreativity.

Collection Days - these full day sessions atmima will include an art historical tour ofmima's collection stores focusing on fine art,ceramics and jewellery. In teams, thechallenge will then be to create new pieces ofwork in response, either 2D or 3D, from an artkit that will be given to each group. Thewinning artwork will be presented back tothe company in an appropriate format.

Prices from £650 for up to 15 people.

Collection Comes To You - mima’scuratorial team can come to your venue withan artwork from the collection and give apresentation that describes the history of theobject, how it was made and how it came tobe in mima’s collection. There is a choice ofworks on paper from drawings, paintings,prints and photographs or choose from ourworld class contemporary ceramics orjewellery collection.

mima’s atrium, café, garden and event spaceare available for hire at competitive rates.

mima's event space on the third floor of the gallery is apurpose designed meeting room with a gallery feel andhouses a wall drawing by Graham Gussin titled 'I loveit in space'.

The room measures 9m by 9m and can seat up to 90cinema style. The room can also be set up to seat up to48 cabaret or 24 boardroom style. The room is fullyequipped with audiovisual presentation equipment.

The hire includes the exclusive use of a break out area,accommodating about 45 people and a superb outdoorterrace with views over Centre Square, Middlesbroughtown centre and the Cleveland Hills.

mima’s atrium is the ideal venue to host a formalreception, special birthday, Christmas party or largescale dinner and dance event. It is a light and airythree-storey space with a cathedral like ambience. The atrium can accommodate up to 250 people so isideal for larger functions.

Our on-site caterers at café mima will provide anextensive range of menu options from lightrefreshments to full banquets from £4 a head. Alternatives such as garden barbecues and fine diningcan be arranged. We can also provide music andentertainment of your choice.

The services of an event coordinator to ensure thesmooth running of your event is included in the hirefee.
