Southfield
“National Flip Flop Day” - June 19, 2015At our most recent office event, we catered in What’s up Dawg with a hotdog stand within the office and provided a variety of Hot Dogs, Chips and Ice Cream. We had a blast!

W H at i s YO u R FaVO R i t e C O M Pa N Y e V e N t a N D W H Y ? I don’t attend too many of the company events, not because I don’t love the people I work with but, I
guess because I’m kind of a homebody. But my favs are when the hot dog cart shows up; I think its
Gino’s (?) and the Halloween contests.
W H at i s O N e C H a N G e t H at YO u H aV e N O t i C e D OV e R t H e Y e a R s? The massive growth spurt we went thru a few years back. I hope to see MiMutual grow again in the future.
i R e M e M B e R W H e N . . .I first started 10 years ago. There were about 20 employees, and the company was very young. This
company and all of the employees have worked very hard to make this company a success, and I for one
intend to keep on doing what I can to ensure this company stays successful!

W H at i s YO u R FaVO R i t e C O M Pa N Y e V e N t a N D W H Y ?My favorite company event may not bring the expected answer, but it’s an honest one. While our events are always enjoyable & full of celebration, I feel the daily ripple here of good people putting great effort toward the common benefit is hands down my “favorite event.” Recognition is to be valued, but the kind of action I admire comes from those who do their best just because they care. It’s “check your ego at the door & dig in” kind of thing.
W H at i s O N e C H a N G e t H at YO u H aV e N O t i C e D OV e R t H e Y e a R s? One change.......are you kidding? Every day brings change & with it challenges.....some welcome, some
not so much. The change I see working is the constant drive to step up. Each of us brings our own special
talents to hit the mark. Learning together, growing together.
i R e M e M B e R W H e N . . .At my age that’s a loaded statement, but reaching back I pull up the simple memory of a way smaller crowd
in way smaller digs, with a mixed bag of hopes, dreams & talents. A journey that traveled through highs &
lows adding insight & wisdom (not to mention humility) along the way. Nothing is perfect, but one of my
favorite quotes holds true: ”I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand as in what
direction we are moving.”

W H at i s YO u R FaVO R i t e C O M Pa N Y e V e N t a N D W H Y ?The annual Event at the Henry Ford Museum. The location was amazing; it felt like a gala with fun music
and great food. Everyone seemed to have a great time!
W H at i s O N e C H a N G e t H at YO u H aV e N O t i C e D OV e R t H e Y e a R s? The tremendous growth of Wholesale and the great people we’ve added since the inception of Wholesale.
i R e M e M B e R W H e N . . .I signed up my first broker as an AE in 2004; it was Mark MacFarland with Assured Capital Funding. I knew
so little about the industry, and Mark gave me the opportunity anyways. He has since turned into a good
friend of mine.

W H at i s YO u R FaVO R i t e C O M Pa N Y e V e N t a N D W H Y ?My favorite events have been the yearly kick-off sales rally and company-wide party, because they
brought everyone together to start the New Year and celebrate our accomplishments of the previous year.
W H at i s O N e C H a N G e t H at YO u H aV e N O t i C e D OV e R t H e Y e a R s? That change is constant. But through all of the changes I always know I can count on the Walkers’ integrity
and commitment to the company and the MMI family to do the right thing.
i R e M e M B e R W H e N . . . I was approximately the twelfth employee in the Wholesale division. We did not have departments or
teams and everyone wore multiple hats to get the job done.
W H at i s YO u R FaVO R i t e C O M Pa N Y e V e N t a N D W H Y ?When we all took a bus ride downtown to a Tiger’s game. We loaded the bus with beverages and had a
great time at Comerica park.
W H at i s O N e C H a N G e t H at YO u H aV e N O t i C e D OV e R t H e Y e a R s? Change within myself. I have become a stronger more focused worker. I believe and try to live our core
values, and it has made me stronger.
i R e M e M B e R W H e N . . .Vince Parlove first joined us. He has been awesome since day one. Almost 9 years later Vince is still an
honest, caring and great family man. I love being a part of this GREAT company.

W H at i s YO u R FaVO R i t e C O M Pa N Y e V e N t a N D W H Y ?I really enjoyed the Tigers game being up on the Pepsi Porch, outside in the summer, enjoying a burger
and a baseball game. It really does not get any better than that!
I also enjoyed the event at the Motor City Casino, the speaker (Sharon Wood) was the first North American
Woman to summit Mt. Everest. Hearing her story first hand was awesome, and her personal photos too
of the summit.
W H at i s O N e C H a N G e t H at YO u H aV e N O t i C e D OV e R t H e Y e a R s? We are constantly adapting to the changes in this industry, and we have to. The transparency from the
Executive Level has continued to be more and more direct.
One change I have not enjoyed is Sugar’s Office. When he started he had a little cube. NOW he keeps
being put into these Office’s with all the Michigan State junk all over the place.
i R e M e M B e R W H e N . . . ...we were 15 people (maybe a little more). Hale Walker spoke directly to us and told us that we were cutting
off our relationship with an Investor and going “all in” with a new Leader (Parlove), and if you are no longer
wanting to be with MMI, then stop wasting your time.
So, most would think: how is this a good memory? Well when the owners tell you what they did and you
know the business well enough, this spoke volumes of the Walkers’, Cansfield’s, and McTevia’s intentions
with their company at that time.
