Our faith is all about new life in Christ. As we travel the Lenten journey each year, that is always an underlying theme. The one who is willing to seek God’s forgiveness and adopt a new attitude, informed by the teachings of Jesus, is the one who will receive new life. That theme is played out so vividly in nature. The seasons, for an example, come and go, but they also become for us a vivid metaphor for our lives. So, we talk of being in our spring, summer, fall or winter. Spring, of course, always reminds us that life continues to be made new again and again. Or, consider the lowly caterpillar that crawls upon the stem of a bush to weave a new womb that we call a cocoon. Within that protective environment a change occurs and what once was a caterpillar finally emerges to a new life as a butterfly. For us, each day is an invitation to experience new life by the continual renewal of our minds. St. Paul wrote, “So we do not lose heart, though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day…as we look not to the things that are seen, but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but, the things that are unseen are eternal.” (II Cor. 4:16-18, selected) Growing in our faith should always be a goal of the Christian. The Lenten Season is a perfect time to do that through

meditating on Gods word, repenting of our sin, and seeking a better way in our living. With Love,

EASTER BAKE SALE
No Foolin’!! It’s time again for the Ultimate Easter Bake Sale. The bake sale will be held this year on March 29 and 30 at Minster Bank here is St Marys. This year the proceeds from the sale will benefit our local St Marys Tailgate for Cancer. Money is donated to James Care in Columbus as well as several local charities. Dust off your recipe box and help us by donating your tastiest treats. Easter themed-treats are especially popular, although our reputation as talented “church lady bakers” has made this the “bake sale not to be missed”! The bake sale starts Thursday afternoon and all day Friday during banking hours. Donation can be dropped off at any time on those days. We hope to see you all then, whether you are donating or buying, and make sure to tell all your friends and family. Also, if you can help by working a few hours, we would appreciate the help. Contact Sara Seewer or Lynda Hadley for questions.
Aluminum Can Recycling
for the Youth Group
Thank you to everyone who is saving aluminum cans for the YOUTH GROUP. We will continue to save, collect, and recycle cans.
Cans need to be rinsed out and brought to St. Paul’s, just leave
them behind the curtain under the stairs of the Creation Station door. If you have a lot of cans and would like to just take them on to recycling and donate the money, it may be just as easy once they are in your vehicle. Thank you for your support.

David discussed adding a “Musical Fund” to the Master Savings
Account. Greg Winget made a motion to add the account. Tom
Dickman seconded. Motion passed.
Every year dividends earned in the PARSONAGE FUND can be
transferred to the Current Fund to offset the Pastor's housing
allowance, provided that the minimum balance of $99,333.09 is
maintained. Also, in the PARSONAGE FUND is $15,380.53 for
the New Elevator Fund that was invested over several previous
years. On 12/31/2017 the value of the PARSONAGE FUND was
$116,013.99 for a gain of $174.25 for the New Elevator Fund
and $1126.12 that could go to the Current Fund for housing
allowance offset. Also discussed was moving the New Elevator
money to the Gifting Fund at Edward Jones which is the largest
fund for the New Elevator. This would combine the two to
simplify record keeping and possibly earn a better return on
investment. Bill Nuss made a motion to withdraw $16,680.90
from the PARSONAGE FUND: $15,554.78 for the New Elevator
to the Edward Jones Gifting Fund and $1126.12 to the Current
