Choose a topic.Choose the type of essay you will be
writing: narrative, persuasive, research.Decide who your audience is going to be.Do a KWL for your topic: what do you know,
want to know, and learn about your topic.Brainstorm using free writing or a graphic
organizer to decide what you are going to put into your essay.
Include an introductory sentence that informs the reader/audience about what you are going to write about.
Include a thesis statement that informs the reader/audience about what your belief/hypothesis/conclusions are about this topic.
Clearly state three subjects you will be addressing in the body of your essay.
Consists of 3 paragraphs. Each paragraph should address a specific
topic from your introductory paragraph. Each paragraph should give: examples,
statements of fact, other supporting information about the subject you are addressing within the paragraph.
