WEAR LININGS

Annexus WA offers the mining and resource industry a range of ceramic based wear and thermal solutions. Our ceramic linings offer the potential of significant cost savings compared with the traditional rubber linings.

Typically, ceramics will outlast rubber linings for Hydrocyclones by 8-12 times and steel spools by 15-20 times in wear resistance. Further savings and production benefits are realized through reduced maintenance due to consistency in the spigot, vortex finder and spool sizes.

MATERIALS

Annexus WA offer a range of industrial ceramics to best suit your application. We would use several factors to determine the most suitable ceramic for your application “ore, slurry type, particle size, angle of impact, pH levels, temperature, pressure, travel direction and the performance of your current material in use.”

Depending on the application and the aforementioned factors we would suggest using the following ceramics.

• Siliconised Silicon Carbide (SiSiC) • Sintered Silicon Carbide (SSiC) • Alumina 92% (Al203) • Alumina 99.8% (AI203)

Hydrocyclones Annexus WA specialises in supplying replacement liner parts to accommodate all makes of hydrocyclones. These parts include:

• Vortex Finder • Feed Chamber • Cones (upper, middle & lower) • Spigot (Apexes) • Splash Guard

Annexus WA hydrocyclone ceramic liners are typically supplied using Siliconised Silicon Carbide (SiSiC) ceramics. This is a premium ceramic and is generally the most cost-effective material for this application.

We offer a Sintered Silicon Carbide (SSiC) ceramic liners for higher wear resistance where impact angles and partial sizes are at reduced levels. Sintered Silicon Carbide is an ultra-premium ceramic and generally only used in specific, crucial application areas.

Annexus WA offers Alumina (Al2O3 purity levels 92%-99.8%) ceramic liners for increased chemical resistance and higher impact toughness.

Annexus WA hydrocyclone liners are supplied encased in polyurethane housings aiding in the overall reduction of the gross weight of the component as well as protecting the ceramic during shipment, handling and the installation process.

• T-Pieces • Adaptors • Y-Pieces • Reducers • Elbows • Cover Plates • Pipe Bends • Valves • Overflow Pipes • Other…

Typically, Ceramics will outlast Rubber Linings in wear resistance for:

• Hydrocyclones by 8-12 times, and • Steel Spools by 15-20 times

Depending on the application, and the aforementioned factors, we would suggest using the following ceramics:

• Siliconised Silicon Carbide (SiSiC) • Sintered Silicon Carbide (SSiC) • Alumina 92% (Al203) • Alumina 99.8% (AI203)

Impact Pads & Chute Linings Annexus WA supplies a range of impact pads and chute linings. Our products are produced using high impact resistant rubber, a selection of ceramic inserts and are vulcanised onto a steel backing plate ensuring superior wear resistance, rigidity and strength. We have standard sizes and materials available however we can tailored make our range to suit your application and requirements.

Standard Sizes:

• 300 x 300 x 32mm • 300 x 300 x 63mm • 300 x 450 x 32mm • 300 x 450 x 63mm • Special sizes made to order

Material Options:

• Impact Resistant Rubber only (very high impact situations) • 92% alumina ceramic vulcanised onto a steel backing plate • ZTA-P ceramic vulcanised onto a steel backing plate (ZTA-P is a premium ZTA product) • SiSiC (Reaction Bonded Silicon Carbide) ceramic vulcanised onto a steel backing plate

Ceramic Grinding Media As mining companies work on mineral liberalisation from increasing difficult orebodies, ultrafine grinding equipment and ceramic grinding equipment and ceramic grinding media play a major role in making these recoveries cost effective.

Improvements in energy efficiencies, cyanide usage reduction, product recovery and reduced maintenance costs are some of the benefits of using Annexus WA grinding media.

Annexus WA offers a range of ceramic grinding media options for use in the ultra-fine grinding process. Annexus WA grinding media is suitable for use in ISA Mills, VXP Mills, HIG Mills and SMD Mills. Our grinding media is available in a range of sizes, densities and compositions.

Supplied in 1-2MT bulk bags for ease of shipping, handling and dispensing.

The production process is strictly controlled by a robust quality assurance system that is underpinned by an ISO 9001 certification.

Products and Forming Methods

Ceramic grinding media can be manufactured from a range or raw materials and can be formed by either the rolled or sol-gel-cast manufacturing method. Factors like composition and manufacturing method influence the quality of the grinding media. The material composition also determines the density of the ceramic grinding media and hence its impact force.

Raw materials consist of carefully controlled nano-sized Zirconia Toughened Alumina particles.

In the production of ceramic grinding media, beads can be formed using sol-gel methods (dripping) or by the pelletising of dry powder (rolling). Dripping refers to the forming of beads by pumping micronized slurry through a nozzle into a gelling solution. The beads are then conditioned, washed and dried. Rolling refers to the granulation from spray dried powders. The rolling process is started with seed crystals and the beads are then grown to the required size.

Annexus WA is equipped to supply both forming methods There are advantages and disadvantages to each forming methods. The main advantage of rolled media is better sphericity and surface finish. Dripped media has a more consistent internal integrity. The disadvantages of rolled beads is that the layered structure can lead to chipping, skinning and internal damage to the bead.

We suggest the dripping method for beads smaller than 6mm due to the lower cost and more consistent wear properties.
