BASIC Young Adult MinistryBASIC, Brothers And Sisters In Christ, is a group of post-high school young adults who are passionate about living and growing their Catholic Faith through prayer, scripture, discussion, and fellowship. We meet each Wednesday at 7:00 PM.

Breaking BreadMembers get to know fellow parishioners by hosting a simple dinner for a small group at their home. Signups are twice a year in September and March.

Celebrate Life CommunityA pro-life group whose mission is to promote the sanctity of life from conception to natural death, and to educate the parish on life issues.

Coffee & DoughnutsHelp serve after one of the Sunday Masses.

Comforter CompanionAn end-of-life ministry created by the nurses of the Health & Wellness ministry. Comforter Companions assist parishioners and their family members with an individual’s spiritual end-of-life journey, help parishioners understand the nature and effect of major illnesses and direct parishioners to the parish office for pre-funeral planning.

Communion to the Homebound and the SickMinisters bring the Eucharist to those unable to attend Mass due to age or infirmity.

Community Garden CommitteeA group of gardeners who have come together through a common interest in planting and maintaining a garden. We enjoy the camaraderie of gardening in a community space and are dedicated to helping maintain the church grounds to whatever extent we are able, keeping common areas looking attractive and well-maintained.

EdgeEdge is our middle school ministry for 6th, 7th and 8th graders. We meet on Sundays after the 10:30am Mass (about 11:30am-1:30pm) on the 2nd floor of the Moisant Center. We start by having lunch provided by the Edge families, then continue with engaging, fun age-appropiate activities. In addition to our regular Sunday sessions, we sometimes meet off campus for community bonding activities, retreats, or service projects. You can register for Edge online through the parish website, RCParish.org.

Elizabeth MinistryElizabeth Ministry is a response to to the joys andsorrows of a woman’s life during the child bearing years. Thisoutreach includes pregnancy and pregnancy complications,birth, infant or child crisis, special needs, fertility or infertilityconcerns, miscarriage, infant and child death as well asgrandparenting issues.

Eucharistic AdorationExposition of the Blessed Sacrament is every Wednesday from 9:00am - 3:00pm in the Day Chapel in the church. Join us in praying and adoring our Lord in His holy presence.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy CommunionLay ministers share their time and compassion with others by distributing the Body and Blood of Christ at weekend liturgies.

Finance CommitteeFinance Committee is a group of volunteers who meet every other month to review the church and school’s financial statements. They advise Fr. Bill on budget and spending priorities.

First Saturday Women’s Faith Sharing GroupA ministry for women by women who gather every first Saturday of the month for prayer, theological reflection and community building. Women of all ages are welcome.

Funeral Reception CommitteeA group of generous parishioners who bring food to serve after funerals or memorial services.

Hand in Hand CommitteeEach month our parish sends a donation to a worthwhile charitable organization. This committee meets twice a year and is responsible for selecting the recipients of the funds.

Health & WellnessA ministry to assist parishioners with health resources and information. The Health & Wellness Ministry runs monthly blood pressure screenings after Sunday Masses, usually the first Sunday of the month.

Hospitality MinistryA broad group of parishioners who serve at each mass by greeting, ushering, guiding parishioners through the chair lift, and answering questions at the welcome table.

Knights of ColumbusThe world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Founded in the United States in 1882, it is named in honor of Christopher Columbus and dedicated to the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. Open to all men of the parish age 18 and older.

Life KidsJoin us for fun-filled faith formation for children in Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade. We meet between Sunday Masses (about 9:15am -10:20am) on the 2nd floor of the Moisant Center. We explore Bible stories, saints, and participate in community service projects. Life Kids is a safe and fun place for children to learn about God’s love and how to minister to others. Normally, children in the 2nd grade will go through preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. The children also learn traditional Christmas carols which they perform in the annual Christmas Pageant.

Life TeenLife Teen is our dynamic, relational high school youth ministry. We gather most weeks throughout the school year in the Moisant Center 2nd floor after 10:30am Mass (about 11:30am-1:30pm) for lunch and fun, engaging, inspirational Life Teen sessions. We build relationships with one another, God, and our Catholic faith, and live it out in community by doing retreats, service projects and summer mission trips together. To register, visit our church website: www.RCParish.org. Confirmation Prep prepares teens to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation (usually in their sophomore year). Those in Confirmation Prep meet at 9:00am-10:20am on select Sundays, while also attending the normal Life Teen sessions. Confirmation occurs in the spring. We also offer Thrive for teens who wish to go even deeper in their faith. Thrive meets 9:00am-10:20am on the Sundays when Confirmation Prep does not meet.

Mary’s Cousins Knitting GroupMembers of this group knit prayer shawls to be given as a visible sign of God’s care in our parish and larger community. They also make hats and baby layettes for local charities.

Men’s MinistryParishioners and visitors gather for Bible study, faith sharing and retreats for men. Meets the second Saturday of each month.

Music MinistryThe Music Ministry of Resurrection leads the congregation in song. We sing contemporary worship songs, great classic hymns, and beautiful Latin chants. We believe all generations are important, so we do everything we can to make everyone feel welcome and included at every Mass.

Parish CouncilParish Council is a group of parishioners who work together with Fr. Bill to do pastoral planning for the parish. Pastoral planning is a prayerful and collaborative process that centers on turning our parish vision into reality. The Parish Council meets once a month with Fr. Bill. We discuss the pastoral needs of the parish community and communicate those needs to Fr. Bill. He, in turn, shares his vision for the parish and describes the many ways our parish community can support and participate in our shared calling as true disciples of Jesus Christ.

Peace and Justice CommitteeMeets monthly to promote Catholic teaching on issues regarding justice and peace. One ministry of Peace & Justice is regularly serving the homeless dinners at St. Andre Bessette Church in downtown Portland.

Pocket Prayer MinistryJoin us in creating these pocket prayers through knitting, crocheting, or quilting. Pocket-sized prayers are blessed by Father and each prayerful stitch offers “hope in hand” to anyone needing heavenly comfort.

Red Cross Blood DriveAssist with the Red Cross blood drives 2-3 times a year.

RCIARite of Christian Initiation of Adults is RCIA is a journey of faith and a process of conversion to Jesus for people seeking God and wanting to learn about the Catholic faith, Christians who have been baptized in another faith tradition, or Catholics who wish to receive the sacrament of Confirmation. Parishioners are also welcome to attend RCIA sessions.

Resurrection Catholic Preschool & KindergartenThe mission of Resurrection Catholic Preschool is to be a school of excellence where children are empowered to use their active and creative minds to grow in understanding, to have compassion for others and to have the courage to live their beliefs. Offering options for children ages 2 ½ through Kindergarten.

SacristansHelp Father by preparing the Church for Masses. They assist Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers and work with Hospitality ministers.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul SVdP Resurrection Conference offers needy families and individuals within our community support and fellowship providing temporary food and assistance with rent and utility bills, to keep them in place and connected to the community.

Stewardship CommissionThe Stewardship Commission is charged with creating a Stewardship vision at Resurrection Catholic parish and to bring the concept of Stewardship to life at the parish.

Teams of Our LadyMarriage is a challenge. Whether a couple is newlywed, raising a family, or “empty nesting,” the call to grow together in love is ever present. This ministry can help support and enrich your marriage and faith as a couple, meeting and sharing discussion and prayer with other couples in a team.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)Children ages 3 years old through 5th grade join together for a week (Monday through Friday) in the summer to experience the love of Jesus, to sing and have fun. This annual event is a favorite of parish and community children. Usually occurs a few weeks after school is out.

Welcome CommitteeOffering a warm welcome to new members and an explanation of parish ministries and services. Welcome Committee takes on the responsibility of acclimating new families to the parish and is the first person to reach out to a new parishioner after they have registered.

Women’s Bible Study Meets weekly throughout the year on Wednesdays, 9:30am-11:30am. We have done a variety of different scripture studies throughout the years. Childcare is provided. Women are invited to join and are welcome at any time during the year.

Women’s First Saturday Ministry“Women’s First Saturday Faith Sharing Group” is a monthly gathering where we discuss various spiritual topics, pray together, and get to know each other as we build a faith community. There will be a different topic presented each month. Come when you can, and bring a friend. All women are invited! Normally we meet on the First Saturday of each month, and do not meet in July or August.

Women’s RetreatAn annual overnight retreat offered each fall for women to experience faith renewal and to build new friendships.
