Issues• Delay release of funds from State to School level- (JRM)• Delay in payment of cook cum helpers- (JRM)• JRM observed that MDM served for 2-3 days in a week in the visited

During SLMC meeting, it was suggested by concerned Director of GoI to take up this matter with Food Safety Commissioner.

JRM Issues not addressed by State Govt.

• Mid-Day Meal served for 2-3 days in a week in the visited schools. No mid-day meal served during half yearly and annual examinations for a period of 15 days each.

• School making false entries for Mid-Day Meal.• Cash book and food grains stock register in 27 visited schools not

maintained upto date. Two schools do not have record since 2011.• Inadequate toilets and drinking water facilities in most of the

schools, some schools are purchasing water for MDM. Toilets are without water facility.

• Separate Kitchen-cum-Stores have been constructed for lower primary and upper primary schools located in the same premises.

• Fire Extinguisher not available in all expect one visited schools in spite of directions from the Supreme Court.

The issues highlighted had also been conveyed by The Human Resource Minister to the Chief Minister, Meghalaya, communication dated 14.03.2013 (D.O No. 9-6/2012-EE.6 (MDM 3-1). The issue of social audit has also not been addressed by the State Govt.

12.02.2014

• 31% schools have been visited till Dec’2013

• Annual Data entry completed only for 91% of the

schools.

• Monthly data entry completed only for 16% schools
