Ministry of human resource development, formally ministry of education (Until 25 September 1985), is responsible for the development of human resources In India. the ministry is divided into two departments:

1. Department of school education and literacy

The department of school education and literacy Is responsible for development of school education and literacy in country. It works on “universalization of education “ and for the cultivation of higher standards for citizenship among the youth of India.

2. Department of higher education

The department is the responsible for secondary and post secondary education. the department is empowered by grant deemed university status toeducational institutions on the advice of the universitygrant commission UGC of India .the department ofthe higher education takes care of one of the largesthigher education systems of the world after usand china.

Saksham is a scholarship for differently abled children by AICTE, ministry of human resourcedepartment that aims to award1000 scholarships per annum todifferently abled students To pursuetechnical education based on meritin the qualifying examination topursue technical education. the scholarship amount under the scheme is rs.30000 or tuitionFees and 2000 per month for contingency allowance for 10 months. this scholarships for those differently abled student whose family incomes less than 6 lakhs per annum.

The midday meal scheme isA school meal programme ofthe government of India designedto improve the nutritional status ofschool age children. this programmeSupplies free lunches on working days for children in primary and upper primary classes. It is the largestthis kind of programme in the world.
