We give with all our heart and soul by honoring the Lord’s plans with humble servitude. Jesus Christ provided an unconditional example of love without pride for self by completing the task assigned by the Lord, His Father. As believers, His Son, our Savior, has paid the price for our sins. On His behalf, we can now call the Lord our Father for the blessings, spiritual gifts, and strength to serve by the power of His Holy Spirit. Thanks be to our God. NEWS AS REPORTED BY OUR SYBA CHURCHES: BEREA: Mary Jane Hoover shared SYBA ministry highlights on March 22nd. Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services were held. An Easter egg hunt was April 4th. An Easter sunrise service was followed by breakfast. Men’s ministry trip to Calabash, NC, was April 17-18th. Yard sale was held on April 25th. Rev. Larry Leatherwood has resigned as Minister of Children/Youth/Outreach as of May 3rd. BETHEL: Easter gifts were taken to the TES teachers on April 2nd. Easter sunrise service was followed by breakfast. Worship was held at 9:00 a.m. and followed by an egg hunt. Festival of Tables was April 18th and included a silent auction and fashion show. Southview Christian School choir concert was April 19th. BEULAH: “Journey to Easter” emphasis was March 15th-April 5th. Easter sunrise service and communion were observed. Prayer walk at West Middle School is held every Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. Student fundraiser barbecue was April 10th. Beulah exceeded their AAEO goal. Golden Harvesters day trip to Morganton was April 14th. The Brad Sherrill memorial golf tournament was April 25th. Evangelism training sessions will be held through May 3rd on Sunday nights. A youth camping trip will be May 1-3rd. COOLEEMEE FIRST: Hosted a community revival on April 19-23rd with local pastors preaching each night. CORNERSTONE: “Experience Easter” was April 4th. Rev. Larry Wood was guest speaker on April 12th. An outdoor chapel was built by Daniel Fero as an Eagle Scout project. Baptism service was April 26th. “Take Your Temple Back” Bible study is on Wednesday nights. COVE: The Statesville campus hosted a prom dress event in April. Members of Faithful Steps assisted the shoppers. FAIRVIEW: Hosted the Rock Fest concert on April 8th with 16 salvations! Shem Okello of Kenya was guest speaker on Sunday night, April 12. Missions barbecue fundraiser was April 24-25th. Men’s ministry retreat will be May 1-2nd at the Stevenson’s pond. Men’s breakfast will be May 3rd. Parent/child dedication will be May 10th. A women’s breakfast will be hosted by the 3L Senior Adults on May 13th. Safari Run for Missions will be July 25th. Yard sale will be May 15-16th. AWANA award ceremony will be May 17th. Shepherd’s Watch will present a Mystery Dinner Theater on May 21-22nd at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the church office. FAITH: Good Friday service was April 3rd. Senior Pioneers picnic was April 18th. Deacon ordination was April 19th. Faith Community Fest will be May 16th (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) with over 100 vendors, music, food, and more. FORK: Easter sunrise service was followed by breakfast. Angela LeVan has resigned as Music Director as of June 14th. New member class was April 12th & 19th. Parent/child dedication service was April 19th. A farewell luncheon was held to honor Rev. Nathan & Emily Hepler on April 26th. Spring revival services will be May 3-6th with Evangelist Jonathan Lotz. Rev. Robert Garrett celebrated his 11th year as pastor in April. Mission trip to Bear Branch, KY, will be July 5-11th. FRONT STREET: Baby bottle campaign for Pregnancy Resource Center was held in April and May. An Easter sunrise service was held. Young at Heart met April 14th with Ulysses Long as guest vocal musician. “The Well” corporate prayer gathering began April 15th. Front Street exceeded their AAEO goal. New members class was April 26th. HEBRON: On April 4th, the children’s ministry visited shut-ins and delivered Easter baskets. A crock pot fellowship meal followed the visits. An Easter sunrise service was followed by breakfast and a cantata. Youth went to Samaritan’s Purse on April 9th. Michael Martin was ordained into the Gospel Ministry on April 12th. Spring clean-up day was April 18th. Youth hiking trip was April 22nd. Community outreach/prayer walking was April 25th. Senior Saints Day and luncheon will be May 3rd. IJAMES: Ijames and Blaise Baptist held two successful fundraisers in March for a mission trip to Peru in July. AAEO was collected in April. A new ministry began in February for prayer groups to visit shut-ins on a monthly basis. JERUSALEM: “Call to Cooleemee” pastors’ prayer breakfast was March 12th & April 2nd. Breakfast fundraiser for international mission trips was March 28th and April 25th. Festival of Tables was April 18th. Community revival services were April 19-23rd with First Baptist of Cooleemee as host church; local pastors preached. LIFE CHURCH: About 900 people attended Easter services, and baptism was observed. First annual Catawba Worship Arts Conference was held April 24-25th with keynote speaker, Sandy Hoffman. College & young adult ministry breakfast was April 26th. A Sole Hope Benefit Dinner will be May 7th. Child dedication will be May 10th. Life Church participates in the Hurley Elementary backpack program. MOORESVILLE FIRST: Maundy Thursday service was held on April 2nd. “Songs at the Cross” (Tenebrae service) was held April 3rd. MT. VERNON: Youth Sunday was March 29th with Rev. Daniel Melton as guest speaker. Special services were held in preparation of Easter. Senior luncheon was April 8th. Baptist on Mission completed a handicap ramp in the community. A marriage retreat was held on April 17-18th. Cottage prayer meeting will be April 27th. A women’s conference, “Choosing Joy”, will be May 1-2nd. OAKDALE: Adult choir presented “It is Finished” on March 29th. Children in Action made bracelets to sell at a pancake breakfast for AAEO. Youth went roller skating. Children enjoyed an egg hunt in April. Oakdale exceeded their AAEO goal. Youth went to a trampoline park in Winston-Salem in April. SOCIETY: Solid Rock concert was March 29th. Operation InAsMuch was April 18th; Baptist Men built a ramp/porch in the community. Church members gave out loaves of bread as community outreach. The choir presented special music on Easter Sunday. Baptismal service was April 26th. SOUTHSIDE: Easter sunrise service was followed by breakfast. Youth worship was Sunday night, April 12. Senior adult choir concerts were April 17th & 24th. Fundraiser lunch for student trip to Washington, DC, was April 19th. Sunday, May 3, will be Senior Adult Day with music by the senior adult choir and lunch for those over 55. Children’s choir camp will be July 6-9th. STATESVILLE FIRST: Easter breakfast was served prior to worship. Easter egg hunt was April 4th. Faithful Steps running program, a 12-week program of faith and fitness, began April 7th. Senior adult luncheon was April 16th with entertainment by The Presbyterian Home Band of High Point. Operation InAsMuch was April 25th. Yard sale and silent auction will be held on May 2nd for Belize mission trip. Homebound Ministry is actively ministering to about 35 shut-ins with monthly visits and cards, etc. TROUTMAN: A special Easter celebration for children was held April 4th. A team of 30 members did ministry in NY in April. Shem Okello from Kenya was guest speaker on April 12th. Youth provided treats for teachers/staff at TMS in April. WATERMARK: The Passion of the Christ was shown on April 4th. An Easter egg hunt and lunch followed worship on April 5th. Women’s Bible study/brunch are held on the fourth Saturday and fourth Sunday each month. WESTERN AVENUE: Festival of Tables was April 18th. Secret Church 2015 (Christ, Culture, & a Call to Action) was taught by David Platt on April 24-25th. Joy Prom for those with special needs will be May 9th. Children’s musical will be May 17th. Graduate Sunday will be June 7th. YADKIN: Senior adult luncheon was April 16th with a presentation by the Sheriff’s Dept. on “Seniors & Scams”. A mother/daughter banquet will be May 2nd. Senior Adult Focus Sunday will be May 17th. Youth Sunday will be May 31st. Graduate Sunday will be June 7th. VBS will be June 14-19th. Church blood drive will be Aug. 13th.

Toy Store for Jesus

A ladies’ Festival of Tables with a Christmas/winter theme will be held on Saturday, July 18, at Troutman Baptist Church. This will be a fundraiser for the Toy Store for Jesus. The meal and program will begin at 6:00 p.m., but doors will open for everyone to enjoy looking at all the different table decorations at 5:30 p.m. Michelle Lourcey will be our speaker for the evening! Additional table hosts are needed. Will you consider decorating a table and serving as host to five ladies?
