Ministry Teams
Finance TeamThe church treasurer is the finance team leader.
Purpose: The finance team oversees and analyzes the church’s finances.
Responsibilities of the Treasurer: Maintain adequate records of all church funds received
and disbursedPay church bills promptlyOversee the creation and maintenance of a church budgetCreate monthly and annual financial reportsEnsure funds are disbursed according to church policy
and procedureObserve and adhere to IRS rulesServe on the Church Council
Finance TeamResponsibilities of all Finance Team MembersAid in the creation of a church budgetWork with the treasurer in whatever tasks they deem necessaryOversee the formation of a scholarship committee to distribute
scholarship funds to a deserving high school graduate
Finance Team Member PositionsAssistant Treasurer (1) – The assistant treasurer will aid the treasurer
in overseeing and tending to the finances of the church. The assistant treasurer would be responsible for any specific tasks delegated to them by the treasurer.
Counters (4) – Counters count and record the total funds collected each week in tithes and offerings, following each collection of funds.
Financial Secretary (1) – The financial secretary prepares givingstatements, records individual contributions to the church to provide quarterly and annual reports, prepares and make deposits, and prepares and distributes annual stewardship reports.
Men’s Ministry TeamThe men’s ministry team leader will serve on the Church Council.
Purpose: The men’s ministry team provides Spiritual care for the men of the church by working to encourage, lead, and nurture men who serve as brothers, husbands, fathers, and ministry leaders.
Responsibilities:Organizing, planning, and directing programs and events that will meet
the unique spiritual and emotional needs of the men of the churchEquip the men of the church to serve the church, their families, and each otherEncourage and promote Spiritual growth among the men of the churchPromote news and events that would be of value to the men
of the churchPromote a lifestyle that lines up with the Biblical model
of a Godly man
Women’s Ministry TeamThe women’s ministry team leader will serve on the Church Council.
Purpose: The women’s ministry team provides Spiritual care for the women of the church by working to encourage, lead, and nurture women who serve as sisters, wives, mothers, and ministry leaders. The team is mainly focused on making disciples of the women of the church and their family, friends and neighbors.
Responsibilities:Organizing, planning, and directing programs and events that will meet
the unique spiritual and emotional needs of the women of the church
Equip the women of the church to serve the church, their families, and each other
Encourage and promote Spiritual growth among the women of the church
Promote news and events that would be of value to the women of the church
Promote a lifestyle that lines up with the Biblical model of a Godly woman
Worship TeamThe worship director is the worship ministry team leader.
Purpose: The purpose of the worship team is to lead the congregation in worship and praise, by example, as they use the artistic gifts that God has given them.
Responsibilities of the Worship Director:Lead the congregation in music of worship that glorifies God through a
blended format of hymns and contemporary praise songsSelect music for weekly worshipRehearse and practice each week with worship team membersWork with the Pastor to plan worship service flow and orderSchedule special music and guest musiciansDirect choir specials when appropriateRecruit instrumentalists and singers to play and sing in the
worship teamUtilize drama, video, motion/dance, and any other fitting
display of worship when appropriateServe on the Church Council
Worship Team
Responsibilities of all Worship Team Members:Work under the leadership of the worship director to create an
environment that is conducive to worship Lead the congregation in worship and praise by example
from the stageAttend all required rehearsals and practicesPractice music as needed on your own
Missions TeamThe missions team leader will serve on the Church Council
Purpose: The missions team provides support to those who cross cultural and geographical boundaries in the cause of world evangelization.
Responsibilities:Strengthen the presence of missions within the churchOrganize prayer, financial, and moral support to missionaries serving in
North America and around the worldAid the Pastor in planning missions trips for church membersPromote current missions opportunities and events in which the church
could be involvedPromote annual Southern Baptist missions offerings (Annie Armstrong,
Lottie Moon, etc.)Make the church aware of current missions updates and workPartner with specific missionaries in ministryStart local missions under the leadership of the pastor and
with the recommendation of the church
Ministries part of the Missions Team:Woman’s Missionary Union (WOM)
The children’s ministry team leader(s) will serve on the Church Council.
Purpose: The children’s ministry team’s purpose is to train and teach children about God and His Word, so that they may grow up to know, love, and serve Christ.
Responsibilites:Teach stories from the Bible and make it applicable to children’s livesLive a life that is a positive Godly example to childrenPlan and implement activities that are engaging and useful in reinforcing
Biblical stories and principals to childrenProvide a learning environment that is bright, cheerful, and positiveBe available to counsel and listen to children’s needs

Children’s Ministry Team Positions:
AwanaTeachers – Teachers are needed to teach stories and principals found in the
Bible to children in age specific classesRecreation – Recreation leaders lead in games and physical activityHelpers – Helpers are needed in all age categories
Release Time (After-School Bible Classes)Teachers - Teachers are needed to teach stories and principals found in the
Bible to children in age specific classes
Vacation Bible School (VBS) - All positions are filled by the VBS DirectorTeachers – Teachers are needed to teach in age specific
Bible classes, crafts, and recreationHelpers – Helpers are needed in every classroom, in general
clerical positions, and in general as-needed tasks
Children’s Ministry Team
Child Care Ministry TeamPurpose: The child care ministry team’s purpose is to
supervise, teach, and take care of preschool, toddler, and infant children during worship services, meetings, and any other church functions.
Responsibilities: Follow and support the preschool/nursery policies
of the churchRecruit and train volunteers to work in child care
and the nurseryTeach age-appropriate Bible stories and principals during
church servicesPrevent any possible accidents or risks to childrenImplement and maintain a security system to
promote child safety
Youth Ministry TeamThe youth ministry team leader will serve on the Church Council.
Purpose: The youth ministry team’s purpose is to evangelize, teach, and disciple youth in grades 7-12.
Responsibilities:Teach students from God’s Word and apply it to their livesPlan recreational events, retreats, youth camps, and other tripsInvolve parents in the youth ministryPrepare for and lead Wednesday night youth groupsPrepare for and lead Sunday morning Bible studyAid in finding ministry positions for students to get
involved inProvide a safe environment where youth are
accepted and loved
Media Ministry TeamPurpose: The media ministry team’s purpose is to use various forms of
technology to aid in worship and the furthering of the Gospel.
Responsibilities:Make copies of sermons available on CD and on the website Operate the soundboard and its related items, mixing for live soundDigitally record all servicesOperate the computer, projector, and its related items for live projectionOperate the camera, DVD recorder, and their related items for live videoOversee the maintenance and care of all computers in the buildingOversee the maintenance and care of all A/V equipment in the buildingOperate lighting for any church productionsUpdate and maintain the church website
Media Ministry Team Positions:Soundboard OperatorComputer/Video Projection OperatorVideo Camera Operator
Hospitality TeamPurpose: The purpose of the Hospitality Team is to promote
and create opportunities for Christian fellowship.
Responsibilities: Coordinate church-wide social functions and mealsProvide food and drinks, as needed, for church
sponsored eventsSetup a schedule to provide meals to ill or recovering
church membersMaintain kitchen cleanlinessKeep kitchen stocked with needed supplies and materialsSetup and arrange tables and chairs as needed in the
fellowship hall
Property Care TeamPurpose: The property care team maintains, decorates, and keeps
our buildings and grounds in a condition appropriate for worship and for public use.
Landscaping Responsibilities:Mow, trim, and rake lawnsCare of parking areas, including paving and stripingCare of sidewalksSnow removal of sidewalks and parking areasExternal floral care, if applicable
Building Maintenance Responsibilities:Repair broken or malfunctioning parts of the church buildingsOversee building construction projectsMaintain physical appearance of buildings

Property Care TeamBuilding Enhancement Responsibilities:Weekly clean the church building (vacuuming, taking out trash, etc.)Clean the Hope Community Center and the Mission House

Hope Community Center Responsibilities:Schedule and oversee usage of the Hope Community CenterEnsure that rules and building usage policies are being enforcedKeep the Community Center stocked with needed materials
and suppliesAdvertise the availability of the facility as needed
Visitation TeamPurpose: The visitation team’s purpose is to utilize those
people gifted with social skills in assisting the Pastor with going outside of the church building to visit and impact families with the Gospel.
Responsibilities:Visit the sick or homeboundVisit families that have recently started attending the churchVisit families of un-churched children involved in our children’s ministriesFollowing up on decisions madeFollowing up on people who have been impacted by
outreach ministriesAny visits as deemed fit by the pastor
Outreach Team
Purpose: The outreach team seeks to provide opportunities for church members to get involved in reaching out to our community and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Responsibilities:Create events and opportunities to be able to share
the Gospel with the community around usHave a church presence at existing community
events (Heritage Day, etc.)Find and promote opportunities to serve
people within our community
Impact Team
Purpose: The impact team is the frontline of the church, and typically people’s first impression of our church. This is the team that the public will see when they arrive for a worship service. The impact team also makes sure that everything is ready for the behind-the-scenes needs of each worship service.

Impact TeamResponsibilities:Greet guests/Open doors/Pass out bulletinsFind seats for guests as needed and have members push towards center of
pews as needed to make roomDirect members to the overflow room as neededSetup the overflow room weekly by setting up chairs, plugging in the audio
feed, and turning the TV and sound system on. Adjust audio volume as needed.
Collect offeringsGet head count for attendance and record totalsDirect parking and traffic on Sunday morningsPrepare the Lord’s Supper as neededPrepare the baptismal as neededTend to climate needs of the building (heat, fans, lights, etc)Be a positive reflection of our church to our guests
