Aeon likes to promote the idea of Home as opposed to an Apartment. The goal is for tenants to not just look at Alliance and other Aeon properties as a crash pad with a mailbox, but rather as a safe, comfortable community where one can have clean, sober fun and lasting friendships.

Well, the strategy may be working a little too well. In the category of unintended consequences, some people have gotten so comfortable that they walk around in pajamas and/or a robe, or in clothing that doesn’t cover their private parts

parts or their God given endowments. Breaking news: This is not the

playboy mansion and you, sir, are not Hugh Hefner, nor madam, are you the playmate of the month. Once you’ve exited your apartment, you have entered the public domain. Dress accordingly! It sends the wrong message to visitors that this is some sort of hospital or mental institution where the inmates roam the halls in their sleepwear. Also, if life has got you down, it helps to get out of your PJ’s, into the shower, don clean, presentable clothing and get out and about; perhaps have a cup of coffee, see what’s up and talk to some positive, upbeat people. If nothing else works, I may be forced to use the nuclear option and walk around wearing nothing but a thong and a smile. For those of you who know who I am, you should now have formed a mental picture that you are desperately trying to get out of your head. That in and of itself should be enough to scare some people into compliance.

Check Out the MIA –

(Minneapolis Institute of Art)

Now officially pronounced "MEE-uh," this museum tends to focus more on classical works so head on over and check out some art by your old buddy Rembrandt and a few of his buddies! MEE-uh is closed on Mondays, but otherwise, it’s free all day, every day!

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden unites two of Minnesota’s most cherished resources—its greenspace and its cultural life. The 11-acre site, home to the iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry, showcases more than 40 works from the Walker Art Center’s renowned collection.

Glendangelou’s

Imagine if I could run up the

stairs without the pains of arthritis or

the stiffness of aging gracefully;

Then, I could train for that marathon –

You know -the one the Twin cities has.

Then I could run and run for miles

without the need of an inhaler,

coughing and huffing and puffing,

trying to catch my breath, before

anyone notices my struggle.

Imagine if I could do jumping

jacks and shine like the child I want to

be; coordinated again like in high

school, wearing that blue gym suit we

wore. I would give you fifty like I used

to do and never think anything of it.

Challenging my daughter in her youth

and smiling and grinning from ear to

ear – because mom is not the teen girl

she used to be but now gracefully

accepting graying hairs in the mirror

and shorter steps as I hurriedly run to

the bathroom.
